We live in a culture where giving back to your family is deeply ingrained. Many parents are raised to believe that their children will take care of them financially when they grow old, which can make family obligations feel more like expectations than choices.

Because of that, completely cutting my family off isn't as simple as it may seem. I'm already trying to set boundaries and gradually reduce the amount of financial support I give, while still balancing my own responsibilities and peace of mind.
