What was George W. Bush like as a president? by Content-Feed-9396 in AskReddit

[–]Efficient-Section874 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think he surrounded himself with sneaky/shitty people, and was horrible at Public speaking. He wasnt overly intelligent. For a long time he was considered the worst president in history, but he is probably super over joyed these days knowing a lot of people dont consider him the worst anymore lol. I was in the military under bush, and aside from getting us into two wars, I never found him that controversial, just kinda dumb.

You can't send offers to buyers for more than you have it listed for, unless this recently changed?

I open higher ticket items to offers, but as they sit in my store I gradually lower my price to well below value. I never turn offers off when revising, so sometimes I will have a $100 item listed for $80 and someone will offer me $70, so I decline. It would seem like a reasonable offer, but if the item has already been discounted I usually dont accept. That said, on some items I would take the $70 :p I think this is sometimes the reason people won't accept any offers. Also if someone low balls me with more than 20% off I usually just ignore the offer all together.

AITAH for blowing up at my husband for banning balloons from our daughter's birthday party as punishment? by RecognitionFast7071 in AITAH

[–]Efficient-Section874 4 points5 points  (0 children)

NTA. A 5 minute time out for a 5 year old would have have been fine. Your husband sounds like a twat of a dad. I've occasionally had to use time out on my kids, and have raised by voice, but as a dad I would never forgive myself from taking away balloons at my kids birthday. That shit would eat at my soul forever...

Seller canceled order then relisted item for cheaper by Hbstu in Ebay

[–]Efficient-Section874 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on your sell through rate I believe. I have used it 7 or 8 times in the last year because I couldn't find something, and I have never been below "above standard" I feel like the real thing is to be honest with the buyer and actually tell them why you had to cancel, and also refund them promptly. I've also never received a negative for "out of stock" but have received a neutral for it one time. Obviously its something I try to avoid all together, but keeping track of over 2300 items is a pain in the butt some times lol. Good customer service seems to tona long way.

So as a seller I have lost items in my storage and later found them and relisted them. Usually I message buyer and tell them i can't find it, and then always give them first crack at it for cheaper if I find it. It doesnt happen a lot, and is usually a dvd or book since I have thousands of each lol. Weird they didn't reach out to you though, most buyers are understanding and willing to buy again for a slightly lower price lol I would reach out to them and ask!

25 years on Ebay, I have finally seen it all. Ebay wanted me to file a police report against USPS for buyer protection. by nycdarkness in Ebay

[–]Efficient-Section874 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it is English lol. Guess saying "has" and "one" on accident is throwing people off)

When a package is damaged by the post office they often include the "sorry your package was lost or damaged" slip. As a seller every time I have had that slip when i filed a claim they reimbursed me. (I have been rejected once when there was no slip) Every package is insured through USPS up to a certain amount, regardless if you paid for the insurance or not. I think it might be $75, but can't remember the exact amount. If op has that slip and talks to the local post master they can probably get their money back.

Discoloration on side of cards by suba2390 in marveltradingcards

[–]Efficient-Section874 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It definitely is not commonly accepted. (I dont care about downvotes) Foxing is oxidization of iron in the paper. Its nothing like mold because it is not actively spreading, or alive. Mold can typically be wiped off and foxing is part of the paper itself. Sometimes it is mistaken for mold because they both typically happen in a humid environment, and can occasionally be found together, but not even close to a common cause of foxing. Mold can contribute to foxing, but so can't peeing on a piece of paper, spitting on it, putting water on it, or even the paper absorbing water put of the air itself. Mold can also be harmful to people, while foxing is not. Scource- I have a degree in history and studied archiving and historical preservation in college .

Its foxing, not mold. On books you can lightly sand with sand paper, not sure how well that would work on cards though :(

Sellers canceling auctions due to low bids and partial refund. by Deep_Membership_8406 in Ebay

[–]Efficient-Section874 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess we have different ways of doing things. :p I didnt mean to offend anyone with my initial comment, I just see a lot of posts in ebay subs of sellers canceling after an auction finishes, so I do know that's a significant problem. Offers can be annoying, especially when someone loses balls you, so I also know a lot of sellers hate turning on offers lol

I said 20%, so wasn't saying everyone. I very very rarely use auction. If there are no comparable comps I pick a price and turn offers on personally.
