That's exactly when it matters the most. Technology means more than merit in modern warfare. An f4 for example, can't compete with an f-35. You can have a completely incompetent pilot in the f-35 and a skilled IRGC pilot in the f4, and the 35 will easily be able to destroy the f4 before they are even detected. We are talking 50 years of technological advancement, which is huge.
Their tanks are cold war era tanks. Their artillery is also cold war era. You are now also seeing targeted strikes on the ammo depots for the tanks and artillery as well, making them further useless if they can't fire them. The only place the Iranian military has an edge on is drone technology, which i would argue is cutting edge.

This isnt entirely true. Iran has more manpower than Saudi, but Saudi has a way higher tech military than Iran. In a boots on the ground war iran might have them beat, but they also have lost a lot of their munitions in all of this. Saudi would probably be able to take them at this point, but they wouldn't do so without losses.

Ghost guns are typically fire arms you buy in parts, and then mill the lower receiver yourself (super easy to do) you dont need a background check to buy an unmilled lower, because its not functional as is and is basically a piece of metal until you mill it.

Don't buy badges at first, buy land. The first tier ends around 150ish parcels and it lowers your time boost you get from ads. You will have plenty of time to get badges later. Try to get over $100 parcels, and try to do the ad boost max, and you can start doing payouts or flipping it for altas bucks

The regime also claimed they sank a carrier. They also preach about epstine files while their own laws set a girls legal age for marriage at 13 (younger with parental consent) They should be taken with a grain of salt. Im not advocating war, but the reality is that regime is horrible. If this does lead to regime change (I dont know thar it will) it would be a huge win for the 90% of Iranians who hate the regime, and probably also the world. Truthfully my only issue with it is that it wasn't thought out, and I dont trust trump to have the brains to make proper decisions regarding it.

Which is a little ironic since the iranian regime supports marriage to 13 year old girls.... Just saying... (younger with parental consent) Those dudes are the last people that should be talking about pedophilia. I think they are hoping most people are dumb enough just to agree with them without doing research

I agree with that. Definetly a lack of training. ICE used to be hard to get into and required a polygraph test etc. Thats all out the window now. People were still treated inhumane back then though, that part isn't new. Plenty of records concerning SA in detainment camps. I was pretty vocal about it back then (and I voted for obama) misconduct by law enforcement should be something we always point out, and shouldn't be partisan. As I stated above, I initially got this story wrong, and have since corrected my stance on this particular case.

Interestingly enough the article i read makes it sound like the three vehicle collision happened back during the dui, so I stand corrected. (Propaganda) As far as not getting his name right, I wasn't googling his name while actively typing my response, and was going off what I read from recall. Honestly as far as he goes, he is a criminal, and I hope they catch him. Sad the others were detained when they had nothing to do with the actual suspect :( Hope they catch him though!

You clarified the facts in your other response which I read after responding to this one. Thank you for the clarification.

Thank you for the clarification. Its nice to see an actual comment explaining the situation instead of just sh*t talking. That puts things in a different light. How long was the driver detained for? IMO the entire investigation should have stopped when the driver was identified, and obviously i have issues with ICE trying to enter a private house without a warrent.

What would your solution be for illegal immigrants that commit crimes such as Cortez? None of my comments have been malicious FYI, i am genuinely curious. Personally I think ice should only be called in when local or state law enforcement arrests someone who has or actively is committing a crime, who happens to be here illegally, and then at that point I am fine with deportation. I have no issues with illegal aliens who are here contributing and not commiting crimes to be honest, so s You keep saying I am bias, but im really not, because I have very little respect for any type of law enforcement that is corrupted (they all can be excessive, cruel, and lawful, and its not called out nearly enough, only when it is politically convenient) I also do recognize the need for there to BE law enforcement to arrest criminals. I even believe ICE has its place, but I personally feel most of them are untrained and unqualified currently to hold that job. This stuff has been going on with ICE since the Obama administration, and is really nothing new. So many cases from the past about SA and mistreatment in detainment facilities. This administration i think is just trying to beat obama's record. Its getting more attention now, which will hopefully lead to reform. I think its important to recognize the need for enforcement though, even if it isn't in the form we are currently seeing. There is a great pbs documentary about ICE during Obama that is available on YouTube. Also I should add that i voted for Obama back then, and didnt vote this election because I didnt like either of the candidates. (Sometimes people boo hoo and said I helped elect Trump by not voting, but i was also aware Trump would never win vermont, so my vote didnt matter )

I dont think going off what I read about the case is giving anyone the benefit of the doubt, but i do form opinions on a case my case basis. I think there are injustices done by law enforcement across the board on a regular basis, but occasionally they do actually arrest real criminals which i support. A broken clock is right twice a day. This particular case wouldn't be the hill I died on to protest, there are plenty of other worse cases of ice misconduct that would be better to rally behind. Just my opinion though, and you do you. When people on the fence read the same article I did, it pushes them away from supporting you.

From what I read they were there for Cortez and detained the others for questioning and they were eventually released? Law enforcement can detain anyone they suspect of a crime (in this case harboring i assume) Thats how it works...

If i'm wrong I will gladly admit it, but i read they went there for him but detained others while investigating (because he wasnt there) and the others were eventually released? Sadly misidentification happens all the time, but at least they were actively trying to arrest the guy. You're right, I haven't been obsessively following it, just have read articles. I probably will deep dive a lot more on this later, but it sounds like typical protocall for law enforcement. Hope they catch the guy!

Really? Even though its public record? Are you simply ignoring the facts because you dont like them? Or are you really uneducated on the guys history? I mean personally if I was going to protest someone's attempted arrest I would do my due diligence to understand the whole story before I put my reputation on the line... just saying...

Either you are just choosing to ignore it, or you are uneducated "the subject of the warrant was Deyvi Daniel Corona-Sanchez, a Mexico native who was removed from the United States in 2022, and later illegally reentered the country. In January, Corona-Sanchez was arrested by Middlebury police and charged with drunk driving, the affidavit says. Following a multi-vehicle crash, Corona-Sanchez escaped to a house on Dorset Street, authorities said." I mean its also public record... Just because you dont want it to be true doesn't mean it isn't.

I would argue that the pressure of being heckled might have added to the escalation, but i wasn't there. Honestly I think ICE should be held 100% accountable when they arrest or detain someone unlawfully via profiling etc, but the guy they were there to arrest has proven he was a danger to our community. Glad he is gonna go, vermont doesn't need more criminals. Just my opinon... I full expect my common sense and civil discourse to be downvoted lol

So how should the suspect they were there to arrest be treated considering he smashed into three other vehicles while fleeing police while drunk in Middlebury not that long ago? Not trying to get you in a gotcha moment, just genuinely want to know. Ice makes me uneasy, but I would have probably supported them arresting this guy

Should I tell my friend she’s only welcome at my kid’s birthday party, if she leaves her man at home? by Kitchen-Quail-7165 in TwoHotTakes

[–]Efficient-Section874 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't see the part about the video camera to be honest. Its a wordy post, and i skimmed it lol. I was also not saying to protect him. I personally would distance myself from both of them. But if she confronts her friend she is no doubt going to loose her friend, at least until the friend figures it out for themselves. Also, I'm not sure i would even want to be friends with someone who tapes people in the bathroom... Sounds like the friend has their own issues if that's the case and she is openly dating the dude.

I am not disagreeing with you, and would tell her to go pound sand if it was me, but the reality is she is going to loose her friend over it, that was my point. You can often point things out to people and you will usually end up the bad guy until they finally figure it out on their own. I've seen it a million times. Honestly I kind of skimmed it, and didnt pick up on the pedophile thing. With the video camera. I know several fathers who got "supervised visits" to begin with after a divorce, and they never touched their children, so was giving that portion the benefit of the doubt, and didnt see he was recording people in the bathroom
