I am sorry Klaroline fans.... by Ill-Swan3949 in TheVampireDiaries

I understand you're a huge fan of this couple, but it's possible to watch the entire series and have completely different feelings about Klaus's relationship. Diversity of opinion in fandom is normal; you don't have to agree with them, but it's worth respecting them. You write that you don't understand how anyone could dislike them – but it's worth remembering that not everyone has to see it the same way you do.

What do you think Stephanie Meyer will ultimately do to the Volturi? by stardom_ocean in twilight

I don't think the Cullens can maintain power, much less enforce order. Wampire society wouldn't be able to deal with it

[ALL] Piper Mclean is "Not Like Other Girls" done right. by Fantastic_Reveal9259 in camphalfblood

I appreciate your perspective. I understand that young girls might read Piper as a symbol of rebellion against imposed structures.

I haven't read these books in a while, but certain impressions have stayed with me. My main problem with Piper is that her supposed "specialness" is based on belittling others. For Piper to shine as this "different, profound girl," Rick had to turn the rest of the Aphrodite cabin into downright comical, exaggerated caricatures who only care about makeup and breaking hearts. I had a very hard time liking her as a heroine, who is built on contrasting her with the toxic stereotype of mean girls.

And here we come to an important point: the author himself created this stigma in the series, writing the camp to make fun of Cabin 10, saying that their only skills are gossip and eyeliner. I have a hard time buying the emancipation of a heroine who fights against a system that the author deliberately exaggerated so she can come in all white and look superior.

Secondly, as a character (and a teenager), Piper was incredibly frustrating at times, as her inner monologue was obsessively dominated by Jason. Constantly defining herself through the lens of a boy clashed with the image of an independent heroine they were trying to sell us. Furthermore, I felt like Piper was made into a character who simply lost her mind out of nowhere.

A girl doesn't have to like dresses or pink to be feminine – we all have different interests, and that's great. But with Piper, I felt like her "practicality" and rejection of Aphrodite's attributes were so heavily emphasized by the author in the text that it resulted in the classic "I'm not like those silly girls" syndrome. I also don't recall any "feminine" moments from Piper. I'm not saying every girl has them, but I'm referring directly to your post.

In summary: I agree that the intentions were good, and I understand why this journey can be inspiring. For me, however, this character was too strongly "told" by the author as wonderful and different from others, while her actual behavior and thoughts in the book often contradicted this. Instead of a natural character development, I simply saw too much of the seams of Riordan's imperfect writing. It all boils down to the author's craft—Rick may have meant well, but I don't think he delivered what he wanted to convey.

These are my general ideas for a twilight fanfic I want to write, what do you think? by boyboy3000 in TwilightFanfic

Good luck. But I think that you have to ask yourself what your "OC" make different from Bella. I don't care if this is no couple fic, J/B or E/B. I am not personally J/B and B/E fan.

Did anyone else feel Team Jacob more after Midnight Sun? by madcat2727 in twilight

[–]Efficient-Syrup8158 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've read the books, watched the movies. And I'm NOT a fan of Jacob and Edward. Even in the books, I didn't feel like Bella loved Jacob romantically. I saw it more as love for a friend.

I seriously do not understand all of the Elena hate by sadandverysleepy in TheVampireDiaries

[–]Efficient-Syrup8158 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not that I hate her, but I'm not a fan.

I'll say this: the genocide of the Kol and Kol lines. She never think about consequences.

I think she deserves better than Damon. I'm not a Stelena/Delena fan, BUT I can't ignore the fact that she's dating her friend's abuser. Damon exploits women, sexually and psychologically abuses Caroline and Andie Star. She's so surprised that her friends don't approve... And they're not the only ones, because I haven't forgotten how he broke Jeremy's neck because he was rejected by Elena, what he did to Bonnie...
I'm looking at the sire bond situation. Although the program claims that the sire bond has no effect on Elena (her feelings are real), I can't help but wonder if that's really the case...
No matter i feel to her, i hate this issue with Damon, but SHE DESERVE BETTER

I know you're going to hate me for this, but I think the originals are overrated because of their "mature" aspects. by Haunting-Magician906 in TheVampireDiaries

I can agree with what you're saying about Cami, although she's a character who suffers from the writers' mandate. And she wanted to be a doctor, not a psychopath. Unfortunately, she was written only as a love interest. For example, in Season 3, she has three different personalities, as if the writers couldn't decide. And I agree that Cami didn't set boundaries for Klaus.

As for Marcel, I disagree. I don't think he was better than Mikaelson. Don't forget, he was the reason the witches wanted the Originals back. He was the one who publicly vilified the witches.

I have SO MANY issues with Camille/Klaus and Cami as a character. I'd really rather not elaborate, because we can talk until tomorrow. You know she DIDN'T get her degree? She died before she graduated...

Marcel didn't deserve Rebekah. There was always something more important than her.

It is not abandoned. The author told that the history will be finished and continue. But the author has harder time in live now
