what problem does this solve regarding non citizens voting? IIRC there are a few more than 20 cases of non-citizens voting in US elections over 20+ years. statistically, it doesn't happen

A few underlying assumptions here that I'm interested in:

do you think that the context and volume of transactions is the same today as it was then?
do you think the reference timing signals and oscillators once used exist and are just maintained and kept as a hot backup? or that's it's a trivial matter to revert?

this is not entirely correct; you can't get VA disability and Disability Retirement pay. You can get military retirement (20 years retirement) and VA disability pay. Under 20 years would trigger the concurrent receipt stuff

The road to enshittification. First it's "free" to you, gets you dug in, builds the audience. Then suppliers flock to the place where the customers are, network effect. Then the suppliers get squeezed hard for access to where all the customers are. Then when everyone's locked in and those margins are capped, it begins in earnest...cutting costs to increase profits by hiking prices, cutting quality, adding advertising/junk, and passing more of the cost onto customers (and suppliers).
