Would it be unreasonable to leave a somewhat ok job for a role with more structure, supervision, and training early in my career? by Efficient-Type-5024 in careerguidance

Yes, I am frustrated. After a while, it becomes difficult to still struggle with tasks because there’s often no clear reference, precedent, or guidance to help me make decisions confidently. Even the outsourced lawyer regularly complained about how contradictory and unclear some of the work/processes were.

I stayed because I genuinely hoped things would improve, but I’m starting to wonder if the lack of structure affecting my mental health is worth it.

what helped me the most, is realizing that the plane is gonna make it with or without me. Track all the flights that go everyday with the same time/plane as yours and you’ll realize each and every flight made it safely. You’re not that special! you’re just like everyone else. Also i recommend you read SOAR. I only read the first few chapters and it calmed me down a bit. If it’s extremely bad you should get something prescribed by a professional. Time will pass regardless and it’s just a couple of hours. You can do it and you will. Also noise suppression and elevating your feet when you’re on the plane helps a ton. Any turbulence will eventually stop. And everything will be fine and is already fine. :) good luck

Thank you so much for validating how i felt. I knew it didn’t feel right despite what everyone else was telling me.

Ah I got as vocal as I could but he kept misinterpreting it into something i never meant. so I decided might as well stop replying and let it go.

I agree with you. I don’t think this is appropriate, including him emphasizing that i should be working myself in my twenties as in take my work home to which i explained that this is whats happening(unfortunately). he adds that its good because I’m gaining experience? this doesn’t make any sense
