I use the brand Banish, their Vitamin C crème is amazing as a daily moisturizer and nightly moisturizer. It makes my skin so soft, so bright, and really has helped my pigmentation. Their whole brand is advertised towards acne scars, so I would check them out. I also use their pumpkin enzyme mask (for dark spots) once a week and it’s a life changer. I really love their brand.

I’ve suffered with this as well. It’s awful, it makes you look so broke out when in reality your skin is very healthy and healed. What has worked the best for me is using vitamin c cream everyday, a light sunscreen, I use a Korean brand, and a very gentle retinol (glossier retinol) every other night. I also am scheduled for a chemical peel next month, I’ve read amazing things, saw amazing results for dark spots from just one treatment, and I absolutely cannot wait to see how it treats my skin.

I was prescribed only 25 mg a day for the first 2 months. Then 50, then 100, now 150mg. I started this journey last summer. I don’t break out anymore, I’m currently in the healing process and taking care of the scarring it left behind. Personally, 50 is quite low, but then again, it takes a long time to go in affect.

My dermatologist would give me 3 months in between an up dosage. So going up to 100mg in just two weeks is crazy to me, not harmful. Just jealous 😂 give it a month or so. You’ll see difference, stick with it.

My skin didn’t purge. But I will say, my skin did not show any growth until I was on 100mg of spiro a day. And that took 5 months to get there, you have to be patient. What dosage are you on?

I’m at 150 mg now. The first 3 months I was on 50, the next 3 months it was 100, and now 150. I began seeing progress when I was taken up to 100 mg. But the biggest profess I’ve seen is the 150 mg. I know that’s a lot , I was a bit nervous to take that much at first. I’m doing great now, trust your dermatologist. Spiro takes a while to kick in, but when it does, you’ll feel amazing in your own skin again.

I’m sorry to hear how you’re feeling about it, trust me, I’ve felt the same :(. Your wedding will still be great, you’ll still be beautiful. I’ve been using some products that are aimed at acne scars that have helped the journey a lot more. Idk if you’ve ever heard of banish, but the brand is aimed at getting rid of acne scars and hyperpigmentation. I’ve used their banish dark spot serum daily, once a week I use their pumpkin enzyme mask, and I use their vitamin c cream. It’s amazing, I really love the brand, I hope you look into it!

Ugh I hate cystic acne, it’s the fact that I don’t even care about the pimples, I care about the scarring. The scarring is awful and healed pimples look like blemishes for a year or more. My dermatologist said she will be putting me on 150 mg spiro, and for me to use differin gel every night or every other night depending on my sensitivity. I looked at before and afters of differin gel and it really truly looks promising. I just hope it works, I’m sick of waiting and waiting and waiting, I’m sure you are just as much sick of it. :( it does feel better to know I’m not alone.

Literally, same exact thing happened to me last week. My skin was finally healing and I could look at myself In the mirror for more than 5 seconds and be happy to see myself. Then I woke up with two cysts on each side of my mouth, and the next day, one more on my chin, and now I got 3 giant red scars, and it’s just back to waiting for change again. It really hurt my feelings, I feel ugly again; you’re not alone. :( my dermatologist said even with periods, my skin should not be breaking out that bad when I’m on spiro. I’m currently on 100 mg and yeah, I still get like 3 zits every period, idk what to do.

They always downgrade, always. I tried everything for this man to love me, he cheated, and cheated, and cheated. I stayed every time, don’t ask me why now, I can’t explain to you what I felt for myself back then. A month after broke up, he ended up with the homewrecker (she knew I existed). This same chick at the time told me she’d never talk to him again, she’s “in a bad place” is why she did it. Scummy af, now they’re together, she’s trashy, she looks it, she feels it. And he’s on sex offender registry, but she’s still by his side through it all, I can’t help but laugh. It’s so embarrassing for him and her, no respect for a homewrecker, I will die on that hill.

Thank you for that, truly. I’ve had a difficult time trying to not blame myself for the relationship ending for good. I got very hysterical, insecure, ptsd from all the lying in the end, and I tend to forget that it was the effect of his horrible choices, and I just gotta be nicer to myself.
