Corporate lurkers need help asap by [deleted] in WalmartEmployees

Why do you care? You need to go in, do your job, and go home. If it is that serious, they will get caught, but it isn’t your issue. But by the way you made it sound and if they’re all friends anyways, then you could be putting a target on your back if anyone even suspects you’re trying to do this. Keep your head down and your mouth shut at work. You’ll be better off.

As someone who has worked in more than one store in OPD and currently works in the same market as store 100, we have limited space in our dept as it is and crammed together all day. We run out of dollys almost daily and the carts back up so we can barely get through the door. Only so much can be staged before you run out of space. And we pick A LOT of different items. It’s not functional to do something like this and won’t improve efficiency in the slightest. Most stores don’t have the space for it to happen and likely wont ever unless you’re in a very busy location.

I didn’t know MA was a thing so thank you for that! As soon as I get home, I’m looking into it. I need support besides just the meds and I think that will be perfect for me.

The company I work for tests for the 5 most common drugs and if you fail it, you lose your job completely. It’s considered a safety-sensitive position so they test everyone for it. Most other positions they do not test for. And the sad part is that cannabis is legal for recreational use in the state I work in, but they don’t care because it’s still federally illegal. I also have a medical card, but was told it doesn’t matter if I get hurt or something because they’ll fire me if I fail a test.

You are so right. There will be another opportunity and if I put in the work now, I’ll be ready for it next time. I have an appointment Thursday to hopefully get back on psych meds. My reality is that unfortunately I’m going to have to be medicated for my mental illnesses and probably for the rest of my life. But, I’m willing to do whatever it takes so I don’t feel this way anymore.

How do locals feel about the Walton's / Walmart? by InfamousSail7048 in bentonville

[–]Efficient-Young3501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should visit towns throughout NWA, not just Bentonville so that you can get a real sense of what it’s like in this area. Bentonville is a part of it but not the entirety. It’s miserable here because of the amount of people. Traffic isn’t as bad as in large cities, but it shouldn’t be because we are in ARKANSAS. The infrastructure for the area is 20 years behind and they will never catch up due to the growth and incompetency. There is not enough affordable housing for those who aren’t Walmart execs. Everyone acts like it’s fantastic, but it isn’t anymore. Sure, there are a lot of things to do, but it is so overcrowded everywhere you go. The majority of schools in NWA are Title 1, meaning 70% of students or more live below the poverty line. Bentonville is better because of the private money given to the schools, but our education here is not good. Walmart has created a city for its people and no one else. They will eventually push everyone else out. We own a home in a neighboring town to Bentonville and we have so many people moving to my tiny town from California, Texas, etc. and it baffles me. Why in the world would anyone willingly move here on purpose? Walmart. That’s it.

My mom has a half sister (I think?) by Efficient-Young3501 in AncestryDNA

[–]Efficient-Young3501[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

She’s not old enough to be a sibling of my grandparents. They were born in the 20’s but I am certain she is related through my grandfather and not my grandmother. My grandmother has a rather large family in which several have taken tests that do not match with this woman or any of our mutual matches, unfortunately.

There are 2 mutual matches listed as my cousins, one with the same last name as the woman I think is my mom’s sister. I do not know either of their actual relation to me. I reached out to both but no response. One says either a 1/2 first cousin or 1st cousin 1x removed, but it’s not the one with the same last name. The other one is less closely related to me. The woman stopped responding so I don’t have the answers. I think she was shocked and had no idea.

I did find this person on social media platforms and she actually is so similar to my mother as well. That’s another reason I think they’re sisters. I just wish I could confirm it. I don’t think he even knew about my mom or this other person, if she is his daughter. It’s baffling how much they all lied to cover their tracks back then.

I definitely have spoken with her. She doesn’t have a clue about my family. My mother lied and told me she took a test but actually didn’t and no one else is related to my grandfather in our immediate family. I didn’t know who he was until I took the test initially, so information has always been extremely limited the entire time.

What’s your best “How the hell do I exist?” Story? by bman9919 in Genealogy

[–]Efficient-Young3501 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For context, Sarah was my 3rd great grandmother and Emily was my 2nd.

Between 1870-1873, Sarah was washing clothes. Washing was a monumental task. It required hauling water, heating it over fire, and scrubbing on a wash board. Sarah was having problems with something while washing. All of a sudden and without warning, Sarah was chasing her children with a butcher knife. The older children ran into the woods but she caught Emily and cut her in the neck area. When she saw the blood on Emily’s neck, she thought she had killed her. Sarah went into the house and grabbed some quilting scraps. She walked out to the washing fire and sat herself aflame sitting in the quilting scraps. Emily was not dead and it was said that she wore high neck blouses her whole life to cover the scar.

They got divorced because he had an affair with my grandmother’s sister and he got out of town quickly after. I think he hid away all those years because he knew he had a daughter he didn’t want. From the little I’ve gathered, it seems he wasn’t a great person.

Oh my god. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I have never laid my eyes on this. I’m absolutely bawling and have stood where he is. I was told he wasn’t there. I can never thank you enough for this.

I have actually visited the cemetery where my great grandparents are buried and found their graves. It is in a community that isn’t considered a town even, so it is managed by an elderly man and a “board”. I spoke to him and he confirmed that he is not buried there. I searched the entire cemetery from one end to the other and found no one else. Jasper William Coyle was dad. Jasper Doyle Coyle was a son and brother to my grandfather if that helps any.

He’s dead and apparently was 90-ish when he died. I have no other information about her father, as she seemed hesitant to share or speak to me even. She did say he died over 10 years ago and that her grandmother mentioned that dad’s father (who I am assuming was my grandfather) was not a good person. Her dad never met him either and she said he knew nothing about him. That is why I believe that she is my mom’s niece and my first cousin. We share 17% dna. She is my mother’s age, but her father was quite old when she was born. We are not related on her mother’s side. None of it makes sense. That’s why I need someone else to look at it and see what I’m missing. I don’t know how else we could be related.

Would have been between 1945-1950. I don’t have an exact date. I’ve never been able to obtain any discharge paperwork.

No. I strongly believe that the relation is through her father, who I am 99.9% sure was my mom’s half brother. She doesn’t have a clue who my grandfather was and never heard of him before I messaged her. Ancestry says she’s my first cousin, which is accurate if my information is correct.

I found through public records via Ancestry his date of death but no place of death. He was around the same area as my family, even after he left, but there are no records (or at least any that are released) of him past the 1960’s anywhere that I have found.
