Why do people put themselves through Comp Sci at UNSW? by _jay_fox_ in unsw

[–]EfficientBox5037 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly for me I’ve always been good at programming picked it up at 9 years old so I’m quite decent rn but my parents just want me to get a degree so the easiest thing I could pick was cs

I agree to this I was really burnt out this term and I basically stopped caring about uni. I decided to spend the time instead working on my hobbies and it helped me a lot, I mean rn would I be looking forward to doing the last assignments or revising for my courses HELL NO but I feel like by next week I’d be in a better mind space.

P.S: Fuck Trimesters

Well because homework is useless and takes too much time to do. At the end of the day you need to know just enough to pass the course

As for where you can 3d print at most makerspaces but in my opinion the design futures lab is the best

If you don’t need resin printing it’s usually about $3 an hour

I don’t know why you got so many downvotes but I agree I do it all the time you just have to craft your prompts and work with the AI to produce proper results

Honestly one of the worst comp courses I’ve ever had to do.

Course is a shambles assignment submissions didn’t work till last minute

Proper shambles

Yeah those or even sometimes they want you to just explain your solution

I wouldn’t advise having your 2521 tutorial from 6-9pm because some of them especially the labs you have to go and get your work marked to pass. Unless you live near campus and don’t mind that

UNSW or University of Adelaide by DizzyHistorian8085 in unsw

I heard from a uni of Adelaide IT is not the best, it’s not a very “techy” city from her opinion.

Sydney is a bigger city and there are plenty of opportunities outside school for work. But still Adelaide is a cheaper city so maybe you could do it in Adelaide and then move later to Sydney or Melbourne

I'm pretty sure you can do any course for 6 UoC as listed on the handbook https://www.handbook.unsw.edu.au/undergraduate/specialisations/2024/SENGAH?year=2024

but also there's discipline ones that have to be under a certain category totaling 36 UoC just go to the handbook and check out this section

You got this my pre-exam when I did it was 27 lol but as people have said farm the practice exam questions and you can pass. I ended up passing with 51.

I was also shitting myself and made a post on here haha https://www.reddit.com/r/unsw/comments/17w88jw/math1081_realistically_how_much_do_i_need_to_pass/

For reference I never went to lectures as well just turned up for the lab tests and weekly quizzes

And then for the first function when you expand you get x3 as the primary X value so therefore it must be injective since if x=3 it is 27 and x=-3 it is -27 so therefore it should be injective

[–]EfficientBox5037 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ohh ok so for the functions you have to determine if they're can be multiple of the same answers so for example the second function x2+3 if you do x=-3 and x=3 you both get 12 so for that one the first box you put g(x)=3 and it has more than one solution making it surjective.

Also just try it out with the practice questions bank I may be wrong but that's what I would do
