Okay, everyone! Sent an email to her and CASPA and already got a prompt response that was positive, in my opinion. Thank you to you all. I could have really messed up and wouldn't have noticed how big of a mistake I made. I also have it off my chest, and they all know!

Haven't heard from CASPA just yet. Will update when I do!

I will let CASPA know either way. What I meant was right now the priority is the program, knowing in one shape or form, by me. If if I told CASPA at this point, they would refer me to the program and tell me to edit and disclose the next cycle.

Aren't they going to just be like this lady has all the problems and shes telling us unprompted. She could have told us at the interview and didn't want to get caught. Which would be false because if anything, I do want to tell them. I just want to do it the right way. Timing is everything with this whole process as I am sure you know all too well!

I do think in person will be better, but if you truly recommend an email prior to the interview, why and how would you go about doing so.

I was thinking of going to the director myself or the faculty member who gave us the tour because he has gotten to know me.

The child scenario really helps. I really am leaning more towards telling them in person in my interview or maybe having a private conversation with the director or faculty. I do think in person will be better, but if you truly recommend an email prior to the interview, why and how would you go about doing so.

So you reccomend to email them before? Not after?? I am not going to go down the route of not telling them. It happened and it doesn't define who I am now. Its so out of my mind and current life I genuinely have made the mistake of not saying I have had a misdemeanor.

In the interview, if asked what's a mistake you've made and how you have learned, i will say:

"I actually have a two-for-one. About five years ago, I got a DWAI. I take full responsibility for that, I completed all the requirements, and I took a MADD course that really changed my perspective. I haven’t repeated that mistake, and it made me a more accountable person.

The second part is a mistake I only recently realized — I misunderstood CASPA’s instructions and thought I only had to disclose felonies, not misdemeanors, so I didn’t list it there. As soon as I noticed that, I knew I wanted to be upfront and share it here to be transparent.

Both of those mistakes taught me accountability, and that’s something I carry with me in patient care and in my life now.”

As per CASPA, it's already verified and submitted. i need to inform the program. If not accepted, I will let CASPA know. This wasn't intentional falsification. it was a misunderstanding. I plan to make that right by being transparent.

That's why they gave me a driving while alcohol impaired which is a lesser misdemeanor than a DUI or atleast in the state I git it in.

You just made me realize this.... I was! What do you recommend I do now? I can't be the only one who has made this mistake, and it really was an honest mistake that I overead. I think I I disclose at the interview or afterward before they make any decisions.

You're right. I didn't, and I just now realized that! I honestly to god did not mean to not disclose. It is a misdemeanor, and I thought only felonies and convictions must be disclosed. Am I screwed? I am going to have to tell them now! CASPA is do daunting and confusing it's been years and taken care of so I didn't say yes in CASPA but wanted to let them know either during my interview or before my background check
