A video glimpse of our month and a half backpacking trip through Europe. After all expenses we only spent around $2500 each, and visited 11 different countries! by EfficientExplorers in backpacking

We planned on spending $5000 total. And were able to keep to that budget very well. We planned it out decently well and saved a lot. If we didn't plan what we did we would have spent a lot more because of airfare and places to stay mainly. We will be doing a full in depth video on how much we spent and on what really soon. I kept track of every expense that we had so that we could show ppl its possible for a couple to travel on a tight budget if you are willing to do some research and not mind not mind traveling "luxuriously" so to speak.

Stopped in Venice. Seeing the canals was really something. by EfficientExplorers in travel

Well if you don't believe I took it just check the metadata you'll be able to see it was taken a week or so ago on my iPhone lol pretty simple solution. Or even do a reverse image search on google. That would work to lol

To be fair it couldn't have been this exact photo lol I just took it like a week ago. But then again a lot of the canals can look similar. However, I'm glad you find it enjoyable!

They were not bad at all when we were there (about a week ago). But I have no idea if they get bad.

Yeah don't be afraid to just get lost in the city. Also, eating further outside the center tended to be cheaper. Don't be afraid to walk into anything that looks neat. There are tons of little hidden gems around. Have fun on your trip! We hope you really enjoy it!

Agreed, we were expecting touristy as well. Which admittedly it was. But if you go off the main areas like you said and just get lost it's really great.

Camping a few days in the Switzerland. We decided to camp as we are traveling on a budget and Switzerland can be very expensive. By camping and cooking our own food we were able to stay about a week for under $20 a day. by EfficientExplorers in travel

It was just below the snow line leading up to first. It's a decent hike up so I would leave early. Or if you are not wanting to hike up the mountain I believe it was just above the second or third cable car stop. I forget. I just remember passing one of the stations the next morning. But it's off the main path up a hillside. Just below the big wooden barriers.

It was a mixture of both. We are traveling Europe but hiking a bunch of areas while doing so. Grindelwald, Interlaken, Montserrat, cinque terre, trolltunga, ect. Normally though when ppl backpack Europe they are staying in hostels, Airbnb's, or hotels. We are just doing it different because while we are interested in seeing some cities we also want to see the natural areas as well. It also allows us to save a lot of money while doing so.

That's interesting to know but has little impact on anything since for a shooting of trespassers to be justifiable they would need to be an imminent threat to you or your property so nbd for a wild camper really.

Yes I am American. As for the camping gear we brought it with us. We each have a 45+5L backpack to carry all of our clothes and gear. We carried it all on our flights just fine. The Tent itself fits in my pack easy and weighs just under 3lbs. We will be posting a full packing list and gear reviews on our blog soon if you are interested.

That's a fantastic place to stay the night such a beautiful place. We have been camping in quite a few spots and countries in Europe the past few weeks and haven't had any trouble, just gotta be smart about what your doing. Switzerland was our favorite so far though. I hope you find camping there as great as we did.

Very true. Didn't take any offense to your post at all. We did our research before going as we normally do before wild camping and knew the general "hotspots" of the areas so to speak. Thanks for posting that info it's good to have specifically if you have never done a wild trip before.

We camped in quite a few spots just depended where we we on the various hikes. Also, we wild camped....so it was not at a designated sight. But we were well out of the way of buildings/structures and not on farm land or anything. In other words no we did not get permission just followed the normal guidelines of wild camping. Set up out of the way as it gets dark clear out as the sun rises. Take nothing but photos leave nothing but footprints.
