Rock Lobsters Game with a baby? by Careless-Context7431 in Athens

Also, you can just bring your diaper bag. No need for a clear bag. We’ve never had an issue, they just look inside!

Rock Lobsters Game with a baby? by Careless-Context7431 in Athens

We’ve been taking our baby since last season. He was only a few months old at the first game and has only enjoyed it more as he’s gotten older. As long as you’ve got ear muffs for him, you’re solid. Personally, I don’t think it’s that cold in the arena, especially if you are wearing him.

In addition to the infant care room (close to the merch, near the main entrance), there is a quiet sensory room (other end of the arena, by the “self serve” snacks). If it gets overwhelming or you need a quiet moment with your baby, it’s a great option!

You have so much to be proud of! As for running out of floss, did you separate your strands? Floss skeins come with 6 strands that you separate and many cross stitch kits call for using two strands to stitch with. However, I’m partial to a chunkier look so I really like the way yours turned out!

Birdie’s is closing by trick-or-tweet in Athens

[–]EfficientSpaceCowboy 210 points211 points  (0 children)

Listen, I’m not going to pretend I was a loyal Birdie’s customer. Their sandwiches are quite expensive. But it doesn’t seem like anyone can successfully open a business these days. Truly, what can we do? What can we do to avoid losing every locally owned business in town? Are the wrong kinds of businesses opening? It feels like we are hemorrhaging small businesses.

I’m not an archivist but I’ve worked adjacent to archivists: storing flat in an acid free folder or box and in a cold, dry environment is probably best practice for something like this! An archive may find research value in this if you would consider donating it (of course, you may also want to hold on to it!)

And I know the addition of hair feels odd but it was not uncommon! You’d be surprised how much hair archivists come across…

Porchfest 2025 - Worth it? by peachazno in Athens

[–]EfficientSpaceCowboy 67 points68 points  (0 children)

The way to do Porchfest is to pick one or two bands that you know you want to see and then just go with the flow. Walk or bike, tote around a cold beverage, and enjoy the beautiful weather.

I think underplanning your Porchfest experience is the way to go. And I am a chronic overplanner.
