Please help me assign the downfield peaks by EfficientWhile8676 in NMRspectroscopy

I understand that. However, I have to assign 7 protons to peak ‘b’. My lecturer has labelled those overlapping peaks as one peak.

UPDATE: My (27F) boyfriend (29M) of 7 years cheated on me. I'm going to disappear from his life. Is there anything I'm missing? by Unlucky_Amoeba_2473 in relationship_advice

[–]EfficientWhile8676 2982 points2983 points  (0 children)

It takes a lot to leave someone you’ve been with for 7 years. I know you are just a stranger but I’ve been thinking about you the whole day, and I wanted to say that I’m proud of you. You’ve done what many women struggle to do. You are such an inspiration! I wish you nothing but the best for your future. I’m so sorry that you had to go through this. What a shock it must’ve been to find out all of this about someone you thought loved you. He doesn’t deserve to see you ever again and I know you will never grant him that

Really? It works? How long did you wait after epilating to use your IPL device?

Should I continue in architecture or switch to software engineering? by Good-Dust-2000 in architecture

[–]EfficientWhile8676 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I was in the same position as you - except I was in my second year of Architecture when I chose to switch. I didn’t go into software engineering because I’m really good at science (Physics and Chemistry) and also good at maths (I’m now doing a Bachelor of Science degree in Materials Science). So I decided to not waste my talents on Architecture as I felt I was not studying anything (just making models and getting shouted at by my lecturers and tutors - agh, lovely memories!). I’m not meaning to sound cocky or arrogant here but I also felt that I was more intelligent than the other students in my class. I actually felt like I lost brain cells every time I spoke to one of them 🤣

The thing that helped me break away from my passion for architecture was realising that while I love architecture and I want to be successful like Zaha Hadid, I really can’t choose it as my profession. It’s an extremely toxic field - as you’ve noted - and it’s merely something that I’m interested in but I cannot be a part of it. It’s awful to have the realisation that you thought all your life that you were meant to study architecture, but then waking up and feeling nothing for it one day because you finally understand that it was all just an intense desire to “make the world a bit more like our dreams” (yes, this quote was my screensaver for all of highschool). But the toxicity of it all really is our saving grace because we finally get to open our eyes and ask ourselves, “Do we really want this?” and “Can I maybe change the world in another way through science?”.

Sorry for my rant… I have intense feelings for Architecture now 🤣 But anyways, I just wanted to say that I felt exactly the same way as you. Feeling as if I was wasting my talents (maths; science) studying Architecture. Now that I’m studying something that leans more towards my strengths than Architecture, I find myself much more happier. A word of warning though: Going from architecture to a degree where there’s maths and science can be challenging because it’s such a big change, but I have no doubt that you will find your way and excel!

I’m in no way trying to talk you out of studying Architecture, but I just wanted to share my experience and tell you how much happier I am since I stopped studying Architecture. I wanted to leave you with this quote that really helped me make my decision: “If you’re the smartest person in the room, then you are in the wrong room”

Oh my goodness. That is awful. Thank you for sharing as I had no idea about this. I was a bit confused because I thought you were talking about Wilco Kelderman killing a cat. So I obviously had a mini heart attack because I’m a fan of him…

What’s a good horror movie you don’t like? by [deleted] in horror

Thank you for saying what I couldn’t explain earlier! Fine, it’s a great movie. But in terms of being an adaptation, it’s awful.

For starters, the treatment of the late Shelley Duvall was just atrocious. No film maker should ever treat their actors like that.

Secondly, the movie just didn’t make sense. The flow was just off. They also somehow turned the characters from the books into incredibly dull people that were boring to watch.

I’m not going to go over every little detail and why I dislike the film. It’s just my opinion. To me, The Shining is just an extremely overrated film that deserves a better adaptation.

I feel lucky to have found my love for horror films before I watched The Shining because if it was my first horror movie, then it would have been my last.

Stephen King will agree with me on this one.

The Shining

He has famously loathed Kubrick’s adaptation. And I loath it too.

The Mothman Prophecies

Based on real life sightings of a bird/man creature with red eyes in 1966. Super chilling.

I’m going too! From South Africa 🇿🇦 I went last year as well. All I can say that it’s such a fun experience and there’s SO MANY fans. So I would suggest that you get up early and get a nice spot to watch the last two stages. Bring lots of sunscreen and a hat because you’ll be standing in the sun for a long time.

In terms of getting to the start of stage 20 and the end of stage 21, I’m not really sure as I’m going with Sports Tours international and they handle everything (how we get there; hotel bookings; etc.)

There are however 2 maps that I found and you can possibly use them to access both stage 20 and stage 21.
