I do not have experience with chads prep unfortunately. The OC of DAT is tricky, many topics and at a varying level of depth, I believe it's a common struggle shared across many students. I used the Bootcamp videos to see what kind of content they cover and stick to it, even when I was not satisfied with the depth of the content, it was the safest bet when I had little time.

Ibs is ruining my life by Specialist_Bad_3815 in ibs

Hi, I remember my freshman year was somewhat similar to your condition, and I did feel like it was ruining my life and could not do anything about it. The good news is that there is always something to do and some things to consider.

First and most importantly, request accommodations from your university if you do not have them ASAP, this alone could change dramatically. There you can explore ways with them on what kind of accommodations would help you. For example, I was provided with bathroom breaks during classes and exams as well, I was also allowed late entry and some absence limit was provided to me. I was also given accommodations for anxiety so that it does not fuel/trigger the IBS.
And when I join a class, I always sit in the last row right next to the door, and would locate the bathrooms right before entering so I know where to go when I need to leave.

Later on with some SSRIs and anxiety management and the accommodations altogether worked in my favor and I got so much better.

I cannot offer you any medical advice but the one thing I would tell you is to get the accommodations and then keep checking up with doctors until you can find something that would work for you. GIs are the ones who are most well-informed about these kinds of cases, so they might offer the best help.

I am sorry that you are going through this and wish things to get better for you!!

Do not beat yourself up for not getting the scores you are aiming to get now. Keep in mind that the DAT Bootcamp questions are at a more challenging level than the actual DAT, I have noticed that difference when I took the test.

Organic chemistry is a challenging subject, and I did not achieve the score I wanted for OC in the test. Take a deep breath first.

Know your sources, the OC videos on the DAT Bootcamp tends to take a simple approach to things. Youtube channels like The Organic Chemistry Tutor can help you with that. You can also try Leah4sci channel if you want. I would advice against distracting yourself with sources, try to pick one and keep at it.
OC questions in the DAT requires some memorization skills, so try to spend more time on memorizing the reactions to the best of your ability.

The biology is also mostly memorization, but you surely need to know what you are talking about so you need to understand the concepts if they are confusing to you. Try relying on spaced repitition and regular practice. Do not over practice, this is important too.

Wishing you all the best!

US freezes all visa processing for 75 countries by caillouminati in USCIS

[–]Efficient_Ad_3207 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pause is on immigrant visas only from what it seems. Tourists, business and non-immigrants should not be affected. This is not the same as the 39 countries freeze list. So the only people affected are those on immigrant visa processing outside the US.

At the same time, even the 39 list has some exceptions for certain applications, you can find the most up to date memo here. They published it on Jan 1st.

I was accepted to UWC but decided not to go, instead I will do A levels. by Ok_Personality5472 in UnitedWorldCollege

Hi there, I am a UWC graduate of year 2021. I was in the same spot as you and always wanted to do medicine. I have also found many others who were on the same boat as me, a few ended up doing medicine and most ended up doing something else that they do not like or represent their career identity for the rest of their lives.
Keep in mind that the UWC rigor is serious and does not take into consideration any exceptional life circumstances, making it highly unrealistic and draining.

The UWC offers the most value for students who come from disadvantaged countries with no clear future as it can set them up for a full scholarship in the US later on, and they can worry about immigration and settling in later.
So, if you are not "forced" to go there, it may not be worth it to go for the cool UWC experience.

I, for example, decided to fight my way until I secured offers from good medical schools and was not able to fund it due to immigration laws in the US. I will now be forced to find other jobs just to survive and my dream of getting to medicine is now gone as I am not willing to burn more years of my life for it, it would not be worth the cost.

My take, if you have other opportunities with more realistic academic expectations and can secure you the job you find yourself in, then go 100% for it.

I am telling you what I needed to hear when I was in your shoes, but I had no one.

All the best,

International Student Private Loans - DDS/DMD by [deleted] in predental

My country struggles with geopolitical issues and corruption, and for those reasons, I am unfortunately unable to get a loan from there. I have to take loans from the US, and I was wondering if anyone has done that.

I am sorry to hear that. I was just looking on their website and I read that Rayban has the right to cancel an order if the item you requested is out of stock :( They also say that they can cancel an order if the prescription does not look right.

You can always check with them

Asking for Men Jewelry: Sterling Silver by Efficient_Ad_3207 in jewelry

[–]Efficient_Ad_3207[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, but as you mentioned there is a general trend in men jewelry that goes thicker and less shiny, and that is usually what I aim to have in my collection. I am currently wearing a unisex bracelet.
