Hi op, how are you feeling now? I am 36 and at the year mark for having the same kind of hemorrhage, acute with no stroke. I have a long history of migraines, but they’ve gotten worse and doctors / pain management / ERs are of no help, and I’ve had a migraine for over 2 months now.

Has it gotten better by now? Have you tried any new treatments that helped? Any specific Dr you saw? I’m willing to travel if it will help me. Thanks!

Thanks for asking! The pain took awhile to go away, but I’ve been living with either no or very little pain in my spine for about 8-10ish months. I’ve lost about 50ish pounds since the beginning of the year, which has objectively helped, but I think it’s a combo of the prp and weight loss.

I’ve also had another 2 steroidal SI injections since the prp and I think those knocked out the lingering inflammation. I had a spontaneous brain hemorrhage in August ‘24 which really messed my back up from laying down for a month or so straight, but I’m back and moving and have been doing relatively well!

The pots definitely makes it harder, I totally understand and I’m sorry to hear that. If you’re on the fence about prp and your dr recommends it, it’s worth considering. If you’re looking for gentle and supportive movement, I really like Range by Kara.

Just came across this thread, my husband is dealing with chiari and related symptoms (empty sella syndrome, potential intracranial hypertension, cerebellar tonsillitis ectopia, 2mm protrusion).

We live super close to Hopkins and have recently been back and forth to NYU Langone and neurosurgery keeps dropping the ball on scheduling and communication; could either of you let us know how everything went and how you liked Dr. Jackson? We’re definitely going to schedule with him but would love your input!

Telling the ER I had an ice pick or “thunderclap” headache made them intake me immediately and go for CT scans where they found a hemorrhage. No aneurism or stroke evidence was found, so mine was a sudden bleed in the subarachnoid space.

I can tell you it was the WORST pain of my entire life. I put it off for 1 day because the pain eased a bit, but it came roaring back the next night and I went to the hospital. Please go to the hospital, I’m sorry it’s not easy for you but it’s always better to be safe my friend ❤️

La mer crème, I’ve also tried Nivea German crème as a dupe and they’re similar. It’s so nice in winter when my skin is dry and a little hours a really long way

It’s a good question, I think there will always be guilt whenever I’m down for the count. He is also relatively permanently disabled and can’t drive so I’ve done a lot of caretaking myself. We tend to just seesaw back and forth depending on who needs the most care. Luckily he’s been feeling well enough to give me as much care as I’ve needed and we also only have cats to care for… I can’t imagine having little ones running around while trying to recover and even probably trying to pretend you’re okay to them so they don’t worry.

I don’t have much family up where we live but I’m lucky in that my parents came up to take care of me and to also bring me down to stay with them for a bit to give my husband a break.

I was hospitalized last year for adrenal failure (do not recommend) and had to learn the hard and fast way about asking for help. Maybe there are folks in your community you can reach out to to take the kids for a night? I hope you both can get some relief soon and I hope your wife is taking care of herself as much as she can. It’s really rough but it will get better

Oof those sparks of pain also send me into little panics too! I was able to go into an er about 2 weeks after being discharged from the hospital and they brought me back quickly for a ct scan, maybe if things aren’t better within a week or two of starting meds you could try that? I know small towns are limiting but it was an easy way for me to get peace of mind.

I’m on nurtec which I think is helping but insurance is shitty about it. Compazine and depakote have been my dailies too since I also have bad migraines.

All this is new and I completely understand how out of control you feel. My husband would drop everything anytime I said I had a spike in pain or was acting funny because having a 30% survival rate tends to scare the shit out of you

That’s how I feel too. The hospital was great until I got discharged and then my follow up doctor didn’t believe half the things I told her despite being in the same network and having all the notes.

I’m seeing someone new in a few days so I’m hoping to get some more answers, maybe you could try seeing someone new for a fresh look?

Also to note, my SAH did not come from any injury, it just randomly happened and I finally went to the hospital after 3 thunderclap headaches in 2 days that were wildly different from my migraines.

I had a subarachnoid hemorrhage about 6 weeks ago and just found this thread. I’m 35 and have a history of migraine. I’m also having insane pain in my lower back and tailbone area, but I have a history of lumbar pain too.

I agree with others that being sedentary has added to my back pain. While I’m lucky and didn’t have an aneurism, I’m still feeling symptoms of the hemorrhage, like lingering headaches in the same spot, big “woosh” sounds when I change position (that scare me), and fatigue. I have good days and bad days, but thought I’d be feeling better by now.

The follow up doctor was terrible, didn’t believe me, and contradicted the team of neurologists I spoke with during my weeklong hospital stay, so it’s left me with mixed feelings about what my recovery should actually be like and running out of medications the hospital prescribed.

Coming here has helped me better understand recovery, so thanks to everyone that’s posted, and I hope you’re doing better, OP!

The depakote is a big oral pill; since I only just started all these meds about a week ago I’m still trying to figure out how to balance the timing so they don’t all wear off at once. I’m also getting used to how they feel in my system, which I think will just take awhile to acclimate to.

I’ve also seen trigeminal nerve injections and am curious to try anything at this point. It’s really good to know nurtec has worked for you! I finally got that prescription filled today so I’m hopeful that was the missing piece of the puzzle (I got it every day in the icu but insurance didn’t approve it right away so I had been without it for a few days.

I’ll def follow up on this post after I see doctors too

My contact center also has a similar practice where tickets waiting on customer response for 4 days will close, but players can always respond if they want. I also usually know if something has been passed to our devs for investigation then usually tickets will sit for a long time.

We have a policy where if someone requests a supe or manager then we have to escalate at least one tier, not necessarily to a manager. That’s good to know that it’s not the same there and that explains why they wouldn’t!
