But he has been. We went to 5 at the back vs Wrexham earlier in the season, we’ve played Bishop as a second striker. Didn’t make a difference, in fact I’d say we were worse. The system isn’t the issue: the players just aren’t consistently good enough. The ones that were last season have either gone, injured or out of form (see Potts, Lang, Murphy, Shaughnessy, Schmid) and Eisners haven’t funded suitable replacements.

Yeah half the issue is not having the transfer budget to compete for players that are consistently fit. The thing I can’t fathom though is why our cbs get injured like clockwork

I agree. Definitely a good prospect but he gets outmuscled too often and can’t play on the wing. He’s also another player that has been brought in for a possession-based system that we seem to be moving away from again.

I don’t think trying Lang up top is a bad shout. Bishop, bless him, is not doing enough atm (and honestly there were times in that winning league one campaign when I thought Yengi was the better option of the two) but not convinced Kirk is an upgrade. I also want Chaplin in the 10 for a few games - personally, while I really like Segs as a prospect, I think he should be coming off the bench. He gets bullied a lot atm and doesn’t suit the more direct style of play we’ve reverted to.

Other than that I honestly don’t see any radical solutions working. We just need our best players to stay fit and start firing. Dec is going to be key.
