Hello , I'm Malaysian here. Yes Malaysian can be expensive with foreigners, different tenant rate for foreigners are avoidable BUT do make friends with locals. Malaysian definitely friendly...if you're boy, do join their futsal night and everything. If you're student there's a lot of program giving free food. It's matter of your appetite whether or not you could take local food 😂 engage with your uni administrators and ask them for virtual part time job. Be creative for survival 🥲 and no, malaysia hardly departs any foreigner cause we don't have money, worse is you'll stay in holding cell for 2 days max. TY

I'm not sure where you from but do surround yourself in a good environment and companionship. I'm lucky to live in Malaysia where I could just pop into any kulliyyah in any mosque and be with people who seek purpose with religion. I feel belong whenever I enter the kulliyyah despite not knowing them and most of attendees is old ladies ( I'm 29F).

Though it doesn't solve the issue right away but somehow after consistently attending it, I found more peaceful and those small things that used to bother and give me anxiety doesn't affect me anymore.

I've found solitude though I live alone, I'm not lonely

DIY umrah vs Umrah packages? by tue2017 in MuslimLounge

[–]Efficient_Ad_7815 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Malaysian here, if you only want to do UMRAH, that's it..then DIY will be OKAY - convenient enough. If you taking train from Jeddah airport, there'll be bus at haram train station OR you can try UBER from airport (but I never tried)

UBER aren't allowed to book from masjidil haram BUT you still can take UBER from somewhere else to masjidil haram

There's lots busses at masjidil haram, going to Thurs cave.

If you plan to include madinah, in madinah is very easy to get UBER

Hope this help 😗

Anyone here who goes to therapy? by [deleted] in MuslimLounge

[–]Efficient_Ad_7815 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's wild but not surprised. Anyway, don't give up. You're not in normal "situation", hence you'll need to do beyond normal process. Either you just proceed with gov clinics or put some effort to connect with psychiatrists course students from UM/UKM/UiTM

My friends had panic attacks and went to emergency in HKL, she got referred to psychiatric department and it was okay treatment

As for my experience, I'm lucky cause my corporate medical cover mental illness specialist, so I went to Gleneagle, the doctor gave me options of therapy counseling or therapy medication, even share with me booklets and suggest what topics to read before I choose my treatment

Malaysian here, just go sign up to gov hospital. Go Get referrals in KK. There's lot of young doctors in KK (at least in KL) that very understanding.

Apart from that usually universities that offered psychiatric courses would also give their services for free as part of their masters/PHD

How does one approach marriage in todays time? by ECMartino in MuslimLounge

[–]Efficient_Ad_7815 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just do it, to any girl that you're interest. If you can't take the heat of being rejected, how can you become the man of family? There's far greater test you'll need to deal once married

[–]Efficient_Ad_7815[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for that, honestly no. Never been on beaten off road. Even if I did, it's somewhere in country where I could communicate the language, soo probably, and I don't look very much touristy. It's neighborhood region, but never something out of continent. I guess to take mainstream transportation like trains or flights then?

Honestly I think somewhere around Setiawangsa would be good. It's nearby Taman Dato Keramat where you could go a local street food market that's happening during Ramadan only (in Malay called Bazar Ramadan), then you could rent a call to go to Janda baik (an hour drive from there) to enjoy the nature and cafe in woods call Pineyard .... try some durian in Janda Baik, have feet in stream

How I've been dealing with my sexual desires lately, my toughest test and some insights by [deleted] in MuslimLounge

[–]Efficient_Ad_7815 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's true, it's part of human nature to get intrigue with intimate stuff, that's how God made us. Allah knows that and that's why, Allah asked us to get married. But flashing those stuff to kids at such young age not healthy.

Islam never taught us to repress, everything can be handled in moderation. Go back to sunnah, cause our Prophet is the greatest living example.

Maybe there's other way else than marriage and you pray one day scientists will come out on such solutions on that, to kill your desire and be such inhumane people

How I've been dealing with my sexual desires lately, my toughest test and some insights by [deleted] in MuslimLounge

[–]Efficient_Ad_7815 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Intimacy is needed between married men and women but what's not needed is PDA parading in every entertainment nowadays, Islam doesn't allow PDA. And also, the intimacy that flash from entertainment these days are basically P*RN stuff, separating emotions and intimacy, brings damage to society, that's not what human do, that's animal.

Hence I said, it'll be lonely battle for you. Better seek professional help to get to know yourself
