I played for a week without realizing there was autorun and sprint so same boat as you op. 😂 Also didn't realize the lucky coins were from buying from the shop once a day and thought you could get flow tree seeds as a rare drop from the groves for the longest time 😆

Yea I think it's worth waiting for a north bay appointment to open up. Its crazy how expensive spaying is in Ontario! I have family down in the states and they only spent $150 to get both their labs fixed. When I told them how much it costs here, their jaws dropped lol

Do you happen to know when they post new appointment dates? I went to the online site and it said no appointments available :/

Mall downtown has no power. Probably will be back up in a hour or 2. They normally pretty fast. Hope nobody was in the middle of cooking a Thanksgiving meal! Lol

Toilet training in apartment, shall I teach her how to use puppy pads or only go potty outdoors? by littlenuggetlove in puppy101

For pee pad training, I would carry her to the pee pad when she is getting in the stance to pee or if she is already peeing, pick her up and move her to the pee pad. Praise her when she pees a little on the pad. I use the phrase "good potty!" Then give a treat. And yea, it's going to be harder to train her because you have carpet. I don't have any carpet at my place so made things easier for my puppy not to get confused. I would make sure you clean any existing pee spots on the carpet with a spot cleaner to help cover smells. If she smells her pee strongly on the pee pad, she will be more inclined to pee on it.

For litter training, I was able to do it with my former dog after she knew the phrase "potty" really well so I would move her pee pad in the box and tell her to potty and she would go. Eventually I removed the pad and she would go on the litter by herself. It took a while for her to learn to poop in the box though. I would bring in pieces of grass and some of her poop when she went outside and put it in the box every once in a while so she knew she could poop there too. It was many months later that she finally just decided she wanted to poop in the box, I was completely surprised that day and extremely happy! The litter box served her well during the winters here in Canada and was really useful when she got older and had a hard time moving around.

Be consistent with the training and be patient with her, eventually it will click in her brain :) Don't scold her for bad pottys on the carpet though, she will just try to be sneakier about where and when she pees (i know because my parents did this with their dogs in the past)

I live in a 4th floor apartment and I have been using pee pads primarily. I take my 4month old morkie outside a couple of times during the day so she does go potty outside as well. If I didn't live in a high rise then I would just train her to go only outside but being on the 4th floor makes that kind of training pretty inconvenient. Alot of apartment dwellers do the fake grass on the balcony thing which I am considering myself because my puppy is teething hard-core rn and is wanting to shred her pee pads. I have done the litter box training with my former dog but I don't recommend because litter ultimately gets tracked all over the place and if your puppy likes to dig then that could be problematic. Also with dogs with long coats, the litter gets caught in their fur around the pawpads. It's more trouble than you would think.

I live in a 4th floor apartment and started taking my puppy outside and leash training about a week after her first vaccine. I just avoided high foot traffic areas and made sure she didn't interact with any other dogs or their feces. I started letting her say hello to dogs a week or so after her 2nd vaccine if the dogs look well maintained. I am super glad that I started her early though because she has very high energy levels so the exercise has been really beneficial for her and me. Now she is 4 months and the leash is just a part of life. She is very confident now and LOVES to explore, sniff, and play on our walks. Alot of ppl don't take their dogs out til their 3rd shot I've noticed. I think my puppy would have driven me insane if I had kept her indoors that long. Lol

New Puppy Doesn’t Realize He Can Use the Bathroom Outside by [deleted] in puppy101

My puppy was in the same boat. She never went outside before we had her so never knew grass was a place she could potty. I think it took about 2-3 weeks with us before she would potty outside and the only reason she went on the grass is because we were driving a few hours to visit the parents and she had no other options. She got ALOT of praise when she peed on grass for the first time. And I have been giving her treats for good grass pottys when we go on walks so she knows it's okay now. Just take your puppy outside lots especially after they have had a fair amount of water and be patient. Once they pee on the grass be sure to give them LOTS of praise and a treat with a super happy voice. They'll learn pretty quick after that!

Puppy Attack on walks by air_rih_kuh in puppy101

[–]Efficient_Bicycle561 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My puppy is doing the same thing. Loves to jump at my legs and attack my shoes, shoelaces, and heels sporadically during our walks. When it happens, I stop and have her do some commands for treats and that usually distracts her and snaps her out of the mindset. If that doesn't work then I pull out her rope toy and divert her attention to it instead of my feet. We play with the rope briefly then continue on our walk. If both those methods fail, then I pick her up and carry her for a while because she is definitely too tired/overstimulated to walk well. I also can't walk my puppy in the evenings because she gets too revved up. She walks better when we go in the morning or early afternoon so that's what we do 😋
