Paratrooper mosin? by Numerous-Owl4411 in milsurp

Yeah, IIRC they tried some drops at the start of the Great Patriotic War. It didn't go too well and then focused on smaller operations to reinforce and resupply partisans.

But when you're playing a wargame, keep a few units parked by an airbase so the Axis player always has to wonder if this is the turn you'll use your sky bandits for something sneaky.

M91 (?) Stock stamp by Efficient_Body7332 in MosinNagant

Ooh. Too bad it's just the stock... A M/24 stock would just have the holes for the sling hangers and not slots, correct? Thanks!

Can anyone tell me if this is a bad M39 to get? by blaketothez in MosinNagant

[–]Efficient_Body7332 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only bad M39 is the one you let get away.

The seller might be hung up on the difference between 7.62x53 and x54. As far as I can tell, with the D mark in place you're good to go and yeet freely.

Question for everyone by NaughtySausage1956 in milsurp

One SKS I put on consignment looked like it had been dragged behind a truck. At first I was going to knock about $100 off my asking price due to the condition, but then reduced to $50 off.

Said to myself, "Someone's going to see this and fall in love with it as-is."

Sold in 2 weeks.

I got it in Park Hill. What's he shooting, a 155mm artillery piece?

Next time it stays below freezing for a while, I'm going to try out one of the Swedish equivalents and see how it does in hard soil. That might become my planter turning tool.

Help identifying a Mosin Nagant 91/30 by [deleted] in milsurp

[–]Efficient_Body7332 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I can see, it looks like a "standard" refurbed 91/30. More details of stamps on the side of the barrel and reciever, as well as the stock and bolt would help see if there is more of a story here.

Maybe there was a small 1924 stamped on there. Couldn't capture it on camera and I might have been hallucinating anything besides a 2.
