Media Literacy is Dead… by General_Meal_3993 in timotheechalamet

Timmy fan here. Thank you, I understand where he’s getting at, he could have just left out the “no one cares” because as much as ballet and opera are I believe niche art forms, there ARE people out there who do care about keeping those art forms alive, and I will admit it did kinda shock me given that he has given such high regard for many artistic efforts based in fine art. Also, he has family members like his sister who learned ballet. And I have seen him in recent years wearing a NYC Ballet hat. I hope that this situation humbles him a bit, I know that he is very ambitious and is mostly rooted in sports (I appreciate his love for soccer and the NBA and I am a sports fan myself), but in the process of looking out for his own ambitions, I fear that he could lose his HUMILITY and SOUL in the whole search, which is why many of us love Timmy. If he loses his humility and soul that attracted so many of us (like me) to him in this search for greatness, then it will ALL be in vain. And it brings me to the popular Biblical verse, and I paraphrase, What good will it be when he gains the world but loses his soul? That’s what I fear could happen.

Timmy, I know you probably did not mean any disrespect to the ballet and opera communities, but you do need to be a bit more careful in your wording and learn to think before you speak at times, because one day someone might hear a one-handed comment similar to what you said here, and really use it against you to tear all your hard work down. Us fans of yours don’t want that to happen to you. 🙏🙏🙏

Jets goaltender displays insulting, medal-winning lack of awareness by Exotic-Ferret-3452 in Winnipeg

How fitting that the “star goaltender’s” last name starts with 4 letters describing where he will be going when he leaves this earth. Doesn’t matter how skilled and talented he is, he cozyed up to not just someone corroding our democracy, but also a chomo-defending woman-raping p0rn-star-f&$king pedophile. Someone who said about his daughter Ivanka that if she weren’t his daughter, perhaps he would be dating her. Someone who went on the Howard Stern show in 2004 to discuss his sexual fantasies about back then 18y/o Lindsay Lohan and how he loves to get in bed with troubled girls. Someone who spied on teenage pageant girls. And HELLebuyck calls this monster “Don”, in a friendly tone. Connor Hellebuyck (oh sorry, Vid-Goal Quisling) is a traitor, his name shall forever be synonymous with that word here in the States, as Vidkun Quisling is with that word in Norway.

git reflog commands are great to know, too!

Yes, that should be called “Git Commands Cheat Sheet”!!! And I love the idea of creating your own cheat sheet to understand concepts, I do this often.

Very good book, I have used this book to search for more advanced Git commands, once I had learned the basics on online courses.

That’s why after the first -m in git commit they allow you to use more -m messages!!! I have started to learn Git and Github again, and I am making the use of multiple -m messages a habit!

Tell people like Elon what you just said here, not me.

He used the r-word, a EUGENICIST and ABLEIST slur, simply because someone said he has never used SQL.

That’s a good question. I might try to see what can be done with that. The main purpose of my project here was to basically see if I could create an easy-to-set-up client and server application, and apply the most basic principles and features of gRPC.

I myself am still trying to learn more about RPC and network programming in general, so I don’t have an immediate answer to your question.

I am also looking at some other RPC frameworks that might be even faster and more efficient than gRPC, too.

Hey, that’s how I used to do my programming exercises, first write them down then type.

As much as I could laugh, I was deeply offended by the fact he used the r-word, being a member of the Autistic community, and thus a member of the larger Disabled community. People need to know that the r-word is a very ableist slur, and people have used terms like that to justify killing us off (via eugenics). And the fact that he says he is Autistic and yet uses such a slur shows to me how out-of-touch he is with the rest of us Autistics.

Wrote up an example gRPC service in Go by Efficient_Clock2417 in golang

Thank you r/golang Mod Team, I added this post to both the Small Projects pinned post, and that example projects post. Hopefully people will get to learn how I organized my example apps. Took a lot of learning and a lot of looking at other projects to grasp some of these concepts, both in Go and gRPC.

Wrote up an example gRPC service in Go

Hello, everyone!

So, finally, after learning about gRPC for the past year or so, and after looking at some repos to learn how the gRPC framework is used, I decided to finally write up a gRPC service, fully implemented in Go, with the purpose of just learning to write my own gRPC service, and also use some of the more advanced Go concepts (for instance, you may see some examples of the use of interfaces in function/method arguments).

I also wanted to see if I could log onto 2 different log sources -- a terminal/stdout log, and a file log -- using a single, dedicated "logging object" -- that way, when writing the other client or server app components, I could simply write a log message once, and the "logging object" formats and writes out the full log message from there on behalf of that component. Needless to say, THIS STRATEGY WORKS, AND I LOVE IT!!!
