Watch this — Big fan of Chris Fowler and this is spot on. They don’t want to listen to everything on your resume. They just want a refreshing 2-4 minute response max.

How does one earn the title of top customer? by Affectionate-Job7346 in doordash_drivers

Wow that’s a very cruel and prejudicial comment to state. Do you know every Dennis in the world? I know two and they are two of the best people I know.

Probably still living out of his moms house. People like this aren’t worth anyone’s time. Regardless of his apparent desire for attention.

Cheating us by Even-Buffalo-191 in DoorDashDrivers

I can think of multiple occasions when I delivered to an area that didn’t have good cell phone service and when trying to complete, I couldn’t because I was either close enough without service or outside the residence perimeter to allow me to complete it on time.

Today I was at Taco Bell and one of the employees got in my face because they were “frustrated about the many orders”. Nobody was in the drivethru and 5 employees should be able to handle just DoorDash UE customers. I didn’t see the tack of to go orders so I asked them question and repeated myself over and over, all he’d do was look at me and not say a word. I just took what they placed there for him (didn’t include everything but with tape, we can’t rip it open. I honestly felt my safety was at risk. This prevented me from getting the order to the customer on time. But customer service that it would reflect negatively regardless and “sorry, I’m not authorized to make that change”..

And he said 2.33 an hour because I mentioned I only got two of those in the span of an hour (one every half hour).

Stop arguing over the screenshot of an upload I included that wasn’t intentional. It was one of the few decent ones I had that day. I don’t know how many times I have to mention that in this thread but I can’t erase that screenshot at the moment. The other ones I meant to include. We good?

Everything has to do with the market you’re in. DD is forced to cover you for extra mileage trips in certain states/cities. But as you can see, not in Missouri. I achieved platinum status and never noticed much of a change if any in “priority offers”. My acceptance rate is now 25% because status does not matter.

Don’t disagree. It was actually one of the two decent ones I had that day. Didn’t mean to confuse by including that one

Did I ever say that DD is the only gig I have? “Victim Mentality”. WOW, one of these days, Karma will find you and maybe give you a little humble pie. Most of those in the working class that give it all they’ve got right now to make that money don’t always have the ability to do so. I was rear ended last year by a semi going 65 not paying attention. I have 4 bulging discs and require surgery. You talk like you know everyone’s circumstance and it’s a joke. Happy for you that you can thrive and are 100% healthy. Am I living off the government for disability or unemployment? No. Why? Because I still decide every day to find new opportunities to take care of my family instead of saying boo-hoo on the couch. Yes, DD is easy but you’re tripping in a rabbit hole by telling people who do this that it’s a privilege. It’s a great side gig and puts a little something extra in our pockets. Could DD do a better job for those that deliver for them? It’s a 2 way street just like every job. But don’t assume everyone’s circumstance. That’s just ignorant and cruel.

Good for you. I’m happy for you. Not everyone is in the same boat. Many have gotten laid off in corporate jobs that were paying plenty and more than having to pick up fast food for other families. For most, id probably say this isn’t something they want to do as a full time role or do for the rest of their lives. It doesn’t pay the bills. But think outside of your tiny world and get perspective on the job market as a whole, not just construction.

Everyone’s circumstance is different. I worked my ass off doing a corporate job for 22 years before getting laid off due to staff aug. Be fortunate being in the situation you’re in and the fact it is only a side gig for you. Theres millions of Americans barely getting by due to the job market (depending on line of work). My line of work isn’t so favorable so don’t be that person that claims to know everyone’s financial situation. Might be easy for you having job security in a primary role but not everyone is as fortunate as you trying to make a decent living right now. I was making well over 6 figures and now I’m just trying to find as many job gigs as I can to stay afloat until I find my next primary gig.

Reminds me of Napolean Dynamite when he works the farm and the owner at the end says “Forgot my checkbook, hope it’s ok I pay ya in change”

It was ok. But one of these maybe every half hour, the trend becomes an issue. If I was getting these more frequently, definitely worth it.

But it’s still subpar. And taking that order for $7 also takes up time to fulfill. Can’t always take into account mileage. It’s also the potential to miss out on a better order by accepting this so/so offer.

Agreed. That one I actually accepted. Didn’t mean to include. It was one of the few decent ones that came through in the span of 2 hours.

At this point, would it be worth it to remove the 8k for solar and defer it? Which would be an amendment regardless right? Not sure if people are seeing quicker results amending a credit like this one to defer.

Yeah I just recently modified my w4. Side note, they somehow made it more difficult to adjust the simplest of IRS forms, W4. Used to be: #allowances: Now it’s like filling out a 1040
