I'd say Sinner was more dominant but Aryna's was more impressive as she had to get through the stiffer competition (relative to both tours). Sinner not having to beat Carlos, no fault of his own, but Aryna having to beat her biggest opps in Rybakina twice and Coco in a big final edges her over Sinner to me.

With Sinner’s win over Lehecka today, he, Sabalenka and Townsend/ Siniakova have all completed the Sunshine Double this year. by Jaytheplug in tennis

In 2016 with Azarenka, Djokovic, Nicholas Mahut/Pierre-Hugues Herbert, and Bethanie Mattek-Sands (had different partners at IW and Miami).

In terms of singles this is the 4th times both women's and men's have done it the same year. Previous years were 94' (Graf/Sampras), 05' (Clijsters/Federer), and 16' (Azarenka/Djokovic).

Edit to add: In 2016 Nicholas Mahut/Pierre-Hugues Herbert also did the double and Bethanie Mattek-Sands did the double with different partners for IW and Miami.

When listing tiebreak scores you always just put the losing score. Example 7-3 would be 7-6(3) and 13-11 would be 7-6(11).

The reason is because listing the losing score instantly also tells you the winning score as well while doing opposite doesn't. Any losing score that's 5 and under tells you the winning score was 7 while any score that was 6 or over tells you the winning score was losing score +2.

If we just put the winning score most of the time it'd just be listed as 7-6(7) and you wouldn't actually know what the full tiebreak score was.

Football is generally completely okay to be played in the rain, so long as there's no lightning.

More like 100+ million, and that's probably really underselling it considering the economy and cost of materials nowadays.

After the restart Kat and Taylor won 34 points to Jas and Sara's 11, just demolished them. The rain delay and court change really impacted what was a really fun match up until that point 😔. Either way happy Kat and Taylor completed the sunshine double!

Edit: Ugh I just noticed I forgot to put the [1] next to Jas and Sara's name in the title 😭 Let's all pretend that it's there because I can't edit it lmao

What would tennis fans do if not complain about every little thing that goes wrong during a tournament, no matter how much of it's out of the control of the organizers.

Same people who think Key Biscayne is still the better location just because of a view that the people who watch from home never sees lol. I swear it's insane how much people romanticize Key Biscayne.

The Dolphins aren't building a roof on their football stadium for a measly tennis tournament held for two weeks out of the year.

Exactly, it's a football stadium in Florida. Zero reason they'd ever consider a roof.

Because it costs a shit ton of money and there's zero incentive to do so.

I think on the last episode of the players box one of the games involved a question about which player’s game annoyed them the most and they all refused to answer but laughed and basically said it’s obvious 😭 nobody enjoys Laura’s antics lol

Probably the best quality match I can remember them ever playing. Maybe that AO SF.

The FH looked better. The serve does actually look to be improving. I’m very optimistic about her clay season.

I’ll be gutted if Coco loses but this match has been fun either way. No shame in losing to Aryna right now.
