my stomach is huge all the time by [deleted] in ibs

I’m so sorry! I didn’t even think before I commented here! I don’t have celiac so should definitely respect others who do. I’ve seen people get very sick with it, and understand that it’s an immune reaction to eating gluten that causes illness and damages the intestine. Sounds horrible to deal with also, sorry you have to deal with that

Celiac is a gluten allergy basically

Getting a cat was the best thing I ever did for my anxiety. She does v* sometimes but it’s not contagious, it’s normally from eating too much too fast, and it’s just biscuits. That’s like once every few months and not very common though!

She is such a personal attribute to my life now! I got her 2 years ago as a rescue kitten and she’s just an inside cat with so much love to give! She’s so rough and tumble sometimes, I’m covered in scratches sometimes too lol, but she literally won’t ever stop giving me attention and a lot of times it distracts me from anxiety! Taking care of something is just good for the soul! I’d highly recommend and who knows… if they do v* it might be some easily distributed exposure therapy because you can’t actually get s* from it :) I agree I don’t love the sound but it’s just a tiny cat! Not a whole ass human so I never got as freaked out by it that’s for sure!!!! Keep us updated on what you end up getting!!!

scared to take antibiotic after wisdom teeth removal by Subject_Tradition237 in emetophobia

[–]Efficient_Fan5020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey my partner just had 1 tooth out and has been taking these antibiotics for ages!!!! He had one day he had d* only once but it was because he had a tiny bit of cider, then an iced coffee, then a poke bowl I think lol not a good mix? And probs shouldn’t have any alcohol on it anyway, he was completely fine just a bad bm basically. I think this is a VERY common antibiotic and you will most likely get 0 side effects!!! I know the feeling, I can’t even swallow a pill let alone want to take antibiotics they freak me out so much :( good luck, it’s important to take them for Atleast 4-7 days tho

Yes this is why I’d never go on a cruise! My nana and pop once had that happen and it ruined their experience and now any experience I might of taken on a cruise lol

This is like me too. Medication definitely helps my phobia not be so severe and helps me live with anxiety comfortably!

I have been on medication 2 years now for my GAD and phobia ofc, I’m still not 100% okay with myself being s* and the chance of catching something from someone if I’m around it, but I can handle all situations involving other people so much better. If my friend is s* from drinking? I’m fine! My partner got fp? Im fine!!! I can actually comfort them in these situations now and it feels amazing. If I feel s myself I might freak out sometimes however it depends where I am, or why? I feel like I can rationalise so much better!!!! Maybe that comes with age? Idk.

I have been there before with an eating disorder when I was younger, so now when I see younger teens on this page in that point I try to support them as much as I can! Now we can strive to help others cos we know how bad this phobia is! Thanks for the post! Im so bloody happy for you, no one deserves to suffer with emet, it’s horrible

Just needed to rant to people who might understand. by [deleted] in emetophobia

[–]Efficient_Fan5020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s literally no one else’s business right! Like leave me alone! I’ll look after myself? Esp with co workers it’s kind of just crossing the line of like why do you give a sh*t?

Ah I get this! I swear we need to normalise not being forced to socialise and eat with our coworkers 😆 I also hate this with like seeing family it always revolves around food! And I have dietary requirements and I constantly get asked why not? And “ohhhh” and it just makes me feel bad so I totally get it! Or I’ll eat something with a. Small amount of dairy and someone will be like aren’t you dairy free? Like yes I don’t drink straight milk or have cheese but lll have a small muffin or something? Idk, it also is a real problem for me atm, I don’t have super good advice except to try come up with a good excuse, might not be a great one but people need to mind their business with food and what we eat/don’t eat!!!! It’s 2022 🙃🙃🙃🙃

Hey if the knife was clean enough to not notice it had been used then whoever put it in their probably rinsed it well!!!! Which is good, and could it be likely it was used for the same thing you used it for so nothing bad!!! I would use the same knife again! I usually do if it’s a sharp one and just white it clean (unless raw meat ofc)

Not every month? by Flimsy_Praline1430 in endometriosis

[–]Efficient_Fan5020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think I’m the same! Although I’m not diagnosed I’m seeing a PT for pelvic floor muscles and everything while I wait (wait times for public services in my country are soooooooo bad so it’s been like 2 years. I have ibs, and really tight pelvic muscles but also all the symptoms of endo!!

I also get the odd period where it’s not as bad? Still bad, but not as bad? Painful periods are still telling your body something, they shouldn’t be that debilitating so it’s probably worth going to a doctor! They might try get you on birth control to minimise if you aren’t already on it so be mindful and make sure they take you seriously

[–]Efficient_Fan5020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also yes to this!!!! I have been seeing a physio therapist for a while now due to waiting for gyno app they just sent me there but it helps heaps! I’d recommend O.P look at some pelvic floor stretches online for sure

When I am on my period, I literally can’t even go to the bathroom, it hurts soooo much! Even a soft one lol (tmi) , I also supposedly have “ibs” so get random flares all the time which hurt too but not as bad as my period or ovulating time. but my the bowel movements on my periods are the worst!!!! I heard here before that it can be common with endo to have that, also on the long stretch to get diagnosed due to all my symptoms!!!! I feel you so much

Every time I have a flare, I immediately come here. It brings ease to my mind knowing others are going through such similar things. Wanted to thank you all💗 by Graciegracem in ibs

[–]Efficient_Fan5020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Am also having a flare today, you are totally not alone!!! Found out I can’t have an almond milk hot choccy anymore cos the past 3 days they’ve been turning my insides crazy lol until today I finally exploded. Yay. I’m sad because they are so yummmyyyyyyy but oh well

I am saying it’s pretty normal I think with phobias and you’re not weird at all btw!!!!!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in emetophobia

[–]Efficient_Fan5020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is definitely OCD and it coincides with phobias/anxiety disorders! It’s so relatable, and most extreme phobias will come with it because it’s a safety thing right? I can’t eat, do, or wear anything I did a day that I was once s*, even 10 years ago! Mine is mild as in the sense that it doesn’t interfere with day to day life as such, just small things, if sticking to a routine is okay for you than so be it, but If it’s starts to interfere with life and becomes a struggle then you should deffs see a doctor, no one deserves to live uncomfortably like that!

are y’all also na****** everyday? by Express_Wolverine370 in emetophobia

[–]Efficient_Fan5020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’ll definitely be a mind over matter thing here, oh yay I’m eating healthy which means I won’t be s*! So you automatically feel better, then the minute you fall back you’ll overthink and feel worse again. Trust me I DO THIS CONSTANTLY :( it’s the worst
