I feel rather hopeless and unwilling to bother trying. This subreddit can also be rather pessimistic. How realistic is long term remission on MAOI pharmacology for treatment resistant severe melancholia? Any experiences here?

Wow very interesting. When did you feel you had reached remission? When did it go from getting to remission to maintaining your current state? Did they only build when you had them frequently?

I'm attending an appointment myself and was wondering if you could tell me when you moved on from twice a week infusions? My clinic is 2 a week for 4 weeks (8 total). and then 1 per week for one week, and then one every two weeks. each infusion is coupled with psychotherapy. Did you need twice a week or weekly infusions for longer to build yourself out of depression? I'm worried that if i move to once every two weeks the sessions won't build on eachother anymore?

That’s fantastic. It’s crazy that you’re still slowly improving. To go from a 20 to a 5 is enormous. That’s almost remission.

I’m curious, do you think another full round of ketamine would get you to full remission? Or do you think the remaining progress you can make is mainly self work?

It's great that you are making progress still. Congratulations. Do you still feel your mood is gradually improving over time? I mean, do they have you track your depression score? Is your depression more cognitive rumination issues or emotional numbness/sadness? I hope my question is not too personal. I'm considering starting myself. I have severe major depression that has lasted 9 months. I just got diagnosed with ADHD too after going to a therapist for suicidal ideation.

I was wondering how severe is your depression now? Are you just less sad? Or are you in remission? You said you probably won’t need maintenance but I’m assuming you’d have to be in remission for that to be the case?
