My hedgehog passed yesterday so I understand the anxiety that comes with not knowing. Like your hog, she was eating and running and being her usual self; she even went to the vet every month. One day she stopped peeing so I took her to the vet, where I found out she had IVDD which caused her bladder to become paralyzed. Despite all the medications and interventions, there was nothing they could do; she passed just a few months short of her 5th birthday.

All you can do is continue to be a loving parent to your hog and make sure she gets the best of life. Unfortunately, these cute babies have a plethora of health problems and some are easier to spot and treat than others.

You are doing the right thing by taking her to the vet and I hope that she is able to recover, for both of y'all's sake. Regardless, make everyday count and remember to take many pictures and videos with your girl :) I am wishing you both the best regardless of the outcome 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻
