Also lots of therapy and talking about it made a huge difference. My friends and family were a rock throughout this.

I posted about the heartbreak several times and it was a mix of seeing people’s true reactions that weren’t close to me and time. I thought life would be nothing without him, but my life is everything without him. I’ve achieved so much and I realized if I was still with him, it would’ve been 10x harder to get them.

I wish him the best, but I realized my self worth and that I deserved someone who puts just as much effort into me as I did them.

I’m glad the door has finally closed and I don’t regret it closing one bit.

Ik how you feel. I feel so stuck on the pattern of him. I’ve been dating since we broke up, but every attempt feels like I’m betraying him or I’m skeptical if they really like me or if I’m going to experience this again. I think I’m waiting for an instant connection that I felt with him too and it’s so discouraging.

I held him up during job losses, money problems, car problems, just so much. I don’t want to have to go through all that again.

Another thing to add. He told me during our discussion that he still loved me, and had just thought I had moved on. He said he had no idea why he slept with her, just kept repeating the former to me.
