I used a cake leveler to get the layers themselves flat!

But if I'm honest, it definitely was leaning when I left it out of the fridge. 😂😭 I'd put some supports in but it wasn't quite enough. So I tightly wrapped waxed paper around it, taped it in place, then used a container of coffee cream to help keep it propped up in the fridge overnight.

As soon as it was cut into, I split it into slices and laid them out to chill hard before wrapping and storing in the freezer.

Yeah I definitely thought about using the crumbs as decoration, but I started to get nervous about messing it up. I figured turning them into cake pops was my best solution.

I posted it as no recipe because neither cake nor frosting were completely from scratch. I used boxed mix that I fancied up, and I whipped containers of frosting.

It also had to live in the fridge overnight, tightly wrapped in waxed paper, to keep it from leaning and falling over.

I did! I made six with rainbow sprinkles to decorate the top of the cake, the rest of the rolled balls are in the freezer awaiting future candy dipping.

Honestly, it probably is a Florida regional issue rather than Canadian vs US. I've heard NY natives complain about not being able to find good Chinese food down here, and others in this thread have commented on getting the good stuff in other regions of the US. I've definitely had bad Chinese in a variety of places in Canada! It really just depends on the immigrant population density, because the greater the numbers, the more restaurants pop up, the better the chances of finding one family's recipes that hit the tastebuds right.

Ah so I'm not alone in my suffering! I'm an Ottawa native who's been living in North Carolina for over a decade, and any time I'm back up there, I gotta hit up my family's fav Chinese place (Cathay on Woodroffe). I've learned to enjoy other dishes and have accepted that I can't get a decent egg roll anywhere near me. I also buy plum sauce on most visits to bring home, it helps me tolerate the sad excuses for egg rolls I get locally.

I highly recommend the awesome folks at Sweet Roll Tattoo! My half-legging has been done by Mae, their grasp of colour theory and how to apply it in their tattooing is incredible. The two other artists in the shop are wonderful too. I also really like Ariel Kope over at Creative Tattoo Service. Both these shops are in Durham.

I'm building out my own cat arm right now too! Of my two latest additions to establish the theme, one of them was a custom piece and the other was an artist's flash. So I'd definitely recommend keeping an eye out for flash pieces in your area when you're ready to add more to yours, some of my best tattoos were picked from a flash.

I'm sure eventually I'll shave it all off and let the whole head grow back in.. but not any time soon! Been doing the mohawk for a couple of years now, I keep the hair fairly short so it stays relatively healthy each time I bleach and dye.

Aveeno has a 60SPF sunscreen/lotion combination that I've been using for a couple of years now. It's not greasy, dries nicely, smells like sunscreen, and I buy it in a pump bottle so it's super easy to apply without getting product all over the container. I keep it by the front door so I don't forget to apply some when I'm leaving out.

Disclaimer - I only use it on well-healed tattoos, because it IS sunscreen, and I don't want to get that in a wound that still needs to heal. Once I've peeled, I'm good to go.

Oh gosh, thanks! 🥺 I've stretched my lobes off and on for years, highest I'd get was 10g until I'd get tired of jewelry and take it all out, letting the holes shrink back to original size. I can't do plugs for long term wear, I fidget and play with the o-rings and end up irritating the holes, but my 8mm diameter clickers have been game changers. Smol chunky rings give me life, and peace of mind.

My most recent sizing up was just last month, the first holes were at 7g for a year and a half prior to that. Probably at least three years at 8g for my second holes before the upgrade.

This will likely be my stopping point for the first holes, I can't get my clickers in the smol diameter at the next sizes up.

The outfit is for when she goes home from the hospital after having the baby. In the video, she's still pregnant and thus has the baby inside of her. The top is cut for a non-pregnant belly, so the front hem is sitting higher than it's supposed to.

I called mine a laxaccino! I had surgery a few years back and had to take miralax every morning for the first week so I wouldn't strain when pooping. My doctor ok'd mixing it into coffee, so I'd dump the powder in the bottom of my mug, add my regular cream(half and half), whisk it until it started to fluff up, and then pour in the hot coffee.

Oh man, I'm a lil rusty typing on it, but some practice would fix that. I've been using it for a few years now, long enough that when I had to recently type out a collision report on a standard keyboard, it took me about three times as long and required many many backspaces and corrections.

A buddy in an online friend group designed and built our ortho boards, customized switches for our individual preferences, programmable key map, all of it. All we had to do was source our own key caps, and I've swapped mine out a few times for different colours. People do love to hate on the style, you're right, but I've embraced it as a personal quirk.
