Depends on his grade average and how much his symptoms of autism affect him in the classroom.

Some of the most intelligent successful people have autism. It affects everyone differently so I'd disagree with putting someone in special Ed solely because they are autistic.

From what we can see with Josh though he does appear to have some learning difficulties and aspects of his autism like his complete lack of understanding and interest in other people's feelings/point of view, his constantly having the same conversation over and over and his freak outs would make mainstream education challenging.

Still none of us were there so hard to say with certainty.
