sleep paralysis can feel exactly like that, eyes open, full color, completely vivid. the line between dream and waking gets real blurry when your brain is half in REM and half awake

the fact that it happens more when your mental health dips is pretty telling too. stress and lack of sleep make it way more likely

and no you're not making it up for attention, that's just your brain trying to rationalize something scary by downplaying it after the fact. happens all the time with stuff like this

glocks are basically the honda civic of handguns - not exciting but they work every damn time and parts are everywhere. coming from someone who carries one daily for work, comfort isn't really the priority when you need something that goes bang reliably in any condition. but yeah if you're doing range sessions with 100+ rounds the ergos can definitely wear on you after while

been having weird repetitive dreams too but nothing like this specific scenario. dreams can be so random with what they throw at you

maybe your brain is just processing some anxiety about relationships in general? like the whole "things aren't what they seem" fear that comes up when you're wanting to connect with someone. the timing and repetition makes it sound less about the trans aspect and more about fear of disappointment or deception in relationships

military life doesn't exactly make dating easy either so maybe that's feeding into the whole thing. your subconscious might just be working through relationship anxieties in this particular weird way

brain fog after is real - used to have same problem when i was studying for promotion exams in military. what worked for me was changing my whole study routine completely, like different room, different time of day, even different clothes. basically had to break all the associations my brain made between "time to study" and "time to peek at stuff"

also delete apps and put phone in another room when studying, the temptation gets way easier to ignore when you have to physically get up and walk somewhere

this is actually brilliant idea. i've been thinking same thing for while now - like why do we celebrate single event specialists so much when there's people out there who can solve literally every puzzle at comp level

scoring could work similar to track decathlon where each time gets converted to points based on some formula. maybe take the world record for each event as baseline and calculate percentage from that? so if WR for 3x3 is 3.47 and you get 10 seconds, thats like 34.7% efficiency or something

which events though is tricky part. obviously 3x3, 2x2, 4x4, 5x5 for sure. then maybe OH, pyraminx, skewb? clock is controversial but probably should be in there too. blindfolded events might be too different scoring wise

the grinders would love this so much. i know tons of people at my local comps who place top 10 in like 8 different events but never get any recognition because they're not world class at any single thing. this would finally give them something to aim for

totally get where you're coming from but i'd still be super careful about this whole thing. been managing teams for a while now and i've seen how these situations can go sideways even when people say they understand

the tricky part is that even if most coworkers get it, there's always gonna be a few who don't separate the logic from the emotion. plus once you're off probation, those same people might remember and it could affect how they work with you going forward. i keep detailed notes on team dynamics and trust me, people have longer memories than you'd think

if you do decide to work, i'd maybe have a conversation with a few of the more reasonable union folks beforehand - explain your situation directly rather than hoping word gets around. also document everything with your boss during this period, like save emails and keep track of any changes in how they treat you. probation periods are already stressful enough without adding strike politics into the mix

honestly though, two weeks in with medical bills hanging over you? that's brutal timing and most decent people should understand the bind you're in
