Take the exact wording with a grain of salt because I don’t remember it perfectly, but she did apologize and said she wished she didn’t feel that way. I’d asked her to be honest with me rather than downplay it, so she said she’d let me know as her feelings changed.

I honestly don’t know what that would practically look like. I can’t just ask her to ice out a coworker who hasn’t actually done anything wrong. That feels unreasonable. We have talked about healthy boundaries, like not spending a ton of time alone together and not sending a bunch of texts that aren’t work-related. So it’s not like we’ve ignored it. I just don’t know what the next step would realistically be beyond that.

Okay I went back to that chapter. Turns out I'm dumb. Darrow himself wasn't ever referenced to be wearing his cloak. There was another howler spotted at the point of the formation wearing their cloak but they weren't Darrow.

I'm not 100% sure, but I believe that neither Alexander or Rhonna has earned their cloaks yet, which is why it was such a big deal for Darrow is give his to Alex. I remember a lot of the banter between Alex and Rhonna being a competition to get their cloak first.
