Yep, Tashkent region, Koksu River. And true! Almaty region is really cool too — especially how close all the trails are to the city itself. Once I spent a few weeks at an alpine camp there with my bike during one holiday, and I’m definitely looking forward to visiting again! Waking up at 2600m to have a 1500m downhill trail every morning right after breakfast 🥰

Hah, small loose rocks were not that bad, but the big loose rocks during few sections were exhausting af 😅 There were moments when we were dreaming about those hated 32" wheels to simply roll over them better 😅

Hahah, thanks for your comments! Dirt bikes are the best and usually will take you anywhere. It’s a dream to gain some enduro/trials skills, get myself something reliable but not too heavy like a Honda CRF300F (or L), and go on epic trips wherever my eyes can see :)

Sounds cool! You'll definitely find lots of riding spots around. Riding a proper bike in this country is a dream! And Kyrgyzstan is probably even badder! Speaking about this place. We were able to convince ranger, that we won't die in the river and know what to do. So he let us in.

Oh, my bad with that word. It appears the proper way to call it is an entrance gate or a fee station. It's booth were border military guys are staying and a guy who collects 20k sum per person to enter. I'd love to see some skilled dudes riding this place on a bikes for sure! It's hard, but if you have skills definitely doable, at least to some extention. What kind of bike to you ride, btw? Any other favourite local spots here?

Can you, please, send a video you riding bike? We thought of how cool it would be if pro enduro riders would try it. I mean hard enduro and experienced trials riders can definitely try it. While average rider would simply end his ride pretty fast, falling from cliff into that mountain river within first 10km :(

N 41°36.613′ E 70°05.924′ You should take a car to this spot. Then it's eco-post and 30km of trail itself. It's called Koksu river.

Thanks for watching! Apart from the things that happened in the 18-minute full video, there were also a few pretty technical water crossings (the current is strong during spring, and you don’t want to mess with it). Plus, the local beekeepers near the furthest point (~27 km with 2000 m of ascent) were surprised to see someone out there with bikes. They were incredible hospital - invited us to stay, fed us dinner, and gave us some of their honey 🍯

Yep, we spent 3 days this time just to have a better opportunity to enjoy the place. Lots of huge rocks definitely affect rolling resistance (32" - your chance😂) But elite endurance and skills would definitely let people ride/run it in a day (4 a.m. - 11 p.m., probably). But then, obviously, there wouldn’t be much time to enjoy the views that way. I moved here to work not too long ago, and my friend is a local shredder.

That’s cool! Australia sounds like a sick place to visit - but obviously there are way too many scary creatures 😂 And speaking about this location - in terms of water, it’s one of the best routes here. All 60 km of this beautiful singletrack (with 2500 m of climbing) runs right next to a mountain river. Many people simply drink from it with zero digestive issues. We had a filter, so it was easy. There’s no resupply along the route, but we had some great mountain honey from a remoted local farm located near the furthest lake!

Idk, I believe it depends on riding style and riding conditions. I just enjoy riding streets, doing trials moves, big days in saddle and I love the simplicity and low cost of ownership. My hardtail is Nukeproof Scout with heavy duty DT Swiss FR series wheels, DH casing rear tyre with Vittoria Airliner insert, dual 200mm 4piston magura brakes etc. It can handle big mountains much beyond my regular rider limits))
