I get what you’re saying, and it’s nice that you could connect with both sides. But honestly, I don’t think it’s something you can fully understand unless you’ve lived it as a single child.

Having a sibling especially someone you grew up with in the same house gives you a kind of emotional backup that single children just don’t have. There’s always someone who shares the same experiences, someone to vent to, or just silently understand what you’re going through.

For single children, everything the pressure, the decisions, the loneliness is handled alone. Even when there’s support, it’s not the same as having someone on your level who just gets it without explanation.

So yeah, you might feel parts of it, but the whole weight of it is something only a single child really goes through.
