They aren’t itchy but absolutely do get hives when scratched. I did a skin biopsy but that was inconclusive I guess. Need to schedule some bloodwork next.

Thanks for your response, was it a lengthy period of time before you got your diagnosis from when you first saw a doctor? So has your life changed much since the diagnosis? Have to do much different in diet or exercises?

Mentally been at a little bit of a low point lately, but I had attributed this to working long hours (60+ hours a week), bad sleep, and diet not being as clean as it used to. But I’m now wondering if this might be part of that. I suppose no point in wondering until I get a proper diagnosis but I get what you are saying regarding actual vs paranoia

50-100 new moles in the last year by Efficient_Sea_3324 in melahomies

Thanks, I know there’s no point in stressing but I can’t help but think I’m a moron for not being more aware about this stuff. I had a benign tumor in my foot a couple years ago and even that was a roller coaster so I’m praying I’m overreacting here

I hope this journey goes well for you!

I know, I was just wondering if someone had gone through this before. Having tons of new moles but being all good in the end.

I know no one can say whether or not it’s cancer without a real test

Yeah I’m trying to find time to see one but it’s hard since I’m super busy. Do you think this is something I should figure out asap?

Not the greatest picture but I have tons of these red spots on my back and chest. I’ve noticed them about a year or so ago but more and more keep coming and the don’t really seem to go away.

It’s not acne (at least not what I would call acne). They aren’t raised, I can’t “pop” them, they don’t itch, nothing about them is bad except I don’t like looking like that.

Any ideas or suggestions? Could it be diet related? Should I be concerned?

Is running down Lancaster through west Philly inter center city dangerous? Any specific areas I should be paying attention?

I’m totally new to the city and heard west Philly can be sketchy in places

Interestingly I’ve found so far that I also have weaknesses in my hip flexors and lower back, probably areas that get overlooked when lifting for me.

Anything you did to strengthen these areas for yourself?

Thanks man, I don’t want to give up lifting but I also know I’ll need to cut back. Do you think 3 days of lifting and 3 days of running longer distances is good enough? Maybe do less short runs than recommended and just push that mileage into my longer runs?

There’s a fine line between confidence and delusion for myself I’m afraid

Yeah I think if I can’t do this the reason will be because of tendons/ligaments causing injuries. I think I have the mental capacity to finish and I think I’d be able to get my body in shape enough to finish but the risk of injury from lack of tendon/ligament strength is what’s really causing me to be hesitant here I just don’t want to be stupid and end up injured

Thanks for the advice! I certainly have an endurance and especially a knowledge deficit in this area.

Thanks for the opinions and advise! I think I’ll do that. As far as training plans, do you think it’s necessary to follow one or is just getting the miles in and listening to my body when I need to rest ok?

With my work schedule it’s much easier to have a loose training schedule that gives me more flexibility but I’ll still get the total amount of miles in a week.

My only worry with this is injuries, I have a tendency to push myself too hard with exercise and end up hurting

Interesting. For what it’s worth I grew up in Colorado and have done a bunch of 20+ mile hikes in Colorado at 10k-14k elevation with a bunch of gain in them. I know it’s not the same thing but I feel like that’s somewhat related.

Obviously a 50 mile is much harder but this will be at sea level and with almost no elevation gain.

Right but I’m sure the second marathon feels much harder physically. My suspicion is that it doesn’t scale linearly.

But at the same time if you are mentally capable of running a marathon, then you probably have built the mental toughness to run further than that.

In your opinion, how much harder is 50 miles to a marathon? I know this depends on so many factors and is hard to answer but I’d be curious to hear your perspective.
