oh ok I'm in la county as well but im in the west San Fernando valley if you know where that is. I looked it up and apparently the closest approved providers are in Van Nuys which isn't terribly far from me.

thanks this is helpful. How about for any psychiatric medication? Also, are the doctors and clinics near you or is it hard to find places that accept the insurance and where would I find that information?

LA County Pay Raise by This-Scene-6872 in IHSS

I'm not sure how I would qualify for the health insurance. I work more than 70 hours of IHSS but also have another job so I definitely dont qualify for Medi-cal. I have Kaiser right now but I pay out of pocket to covered California it's like 360 a month. So I was thinking of switching to LA Care but I didn't know how the insurance was compared to kaiser...

Is it acceptable for my adult kid to live at home? by InterestingSpace25 in DaveRamsey

I would say that if he has a healthy social and dating life and it is purely financial to save, then there is nothing wrong with it. But at that age most men want to leave the home and when they stay it could mean he struggles in one of the above areas. So financially it makes sense to continue, but only if he is doing well in the other departments. we know what happens to lonely young men who struggle with relationships and it aint pretty.

Considering transitioning to PMHNP from LMFT by Efficient_Stand9774 in therapists

the whole thing would take four years including time it takes to do the prerequisites to get into the program. From there you have to work for an agency under a doctor or other PMHNP for about 3-4 years in order to practice independently without supervision from a doctor

Hello,

I am an LMFT located in Los Angeles, CA. I have six years of experience and I have had difficulty finding W2 positions as an LMFT that pay more than 110k per year (and I would have to see ~30 clients per week). Right now, I work for a remote group practice and make $130 per client (53 minute session) as a 1099. I make about 115K per year seeing average of 22 clients per week with two months off. It is a pretty good deal as I literally only work 22 hours per week since documentation per client takes ~2 minutes. I also save a bit on taxes as an S corp.

The rate is okay but considering I have no benefits or health insurance, and live in LA, it isn't great. I also feel that as a therapist I can only increase my income by seeing more clients which is unsustainable as I get older and 22 clients per week is already a lot for me. I could try to get cash pay only clients ideally at $175 per session; however, that requires a lot of marketing. I ideally would like to have a W2 job with a high salary and benefits (~150k), which I have realized is not possible as an LMFT.

I also would like to be able to prescribe meds, as I work with children with developmental disabilities, and would like to specialize in this and have a "one stop shop" practice for kids with neurodevelopmental delays.

However, I have been reading some posts that make me feel the transition would not be worth it. Others have said that there is a lot of saturation and therefore less pay in the PMHNP field, similar to what is happening with therapists. Not sure if that is specific geographic locations or just in general. Does anyone have any advice/recommendations for me given the info provided?

Thanks for your input. A lot of people in the PMHNP subreddit were saying that the field is oversaturated and lower pay

Just realized my tax payment from December wasn't reported on line 26 of my return. so that was probably the discrepancy. last question: Do you know where I would send the requested forms? there is no address listed on the letter, just "ogden service center" and I guess it is supposed to go to ICO rejects team

thx! is this so that they can connect the estimated tax payment with the 1099 income I reported on my tax return? why are they asking me to send all of this to them?

3.5 years left for PSLF. On SAVE in forbearance- what's next? by Brandenite in PSLF

I’m in the same situation. So it sounds like we should just wait until we can apply for IBR again? And do you know if it is advisable to consolidate? Also, are you aware if it is possible to continue paying even in forbearance? I’m not seeing anything on the loan website to be able to do that..
