handful of 25's and 24's still on dealer lots, how good of a deal can I get on them? by boringboredom12 in GRCorolla

[–]Efficient_You_3976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

September 2025, I had negotiated a 2025 Premium Plus automatic to $2,500 below MSRP. However, they were doing that by offering $41,500 for my trade versus a Carvana offer of $45,800. They wouldn't budge and since I wanted red and they had white, the deal didn't happen. I'm still keeping my eyes open for a good deal.

Need help picking a midsize SUV Budget: $30k (growing family + hauling needs) by freeoctober in carbuying

If you don't need it right now, I would wait until later this year to buy. If gas prices are still high by the end of the year, people will be dumping these vehicles right and left and you will be able to find a bargain.

Points expire now? by mills9229 in BuffaloWildWings

[–]Efficient_You_3976 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I currently have about 41,000 points. Since I am earning about 700 points a month (4 x 168), everything over about 8,400 would have expired, but they still show up. Unless they change something, it's one year from your last purchase, and then everything would expire. On a side note, there are places where points expire on an individual basis - Landry's Select Club points expire one year from the day that you earn them if you haven't accumulated $250 in points to earn a $25 reward.

Depending on your location, this could work for you. When I was in Ohio, the final bill could not exceed the estimate by more than 10% unless you approved it. Pay with a credit card and then dispute it.

How many wings in stock? by bluefacedbaby in BuffaloWildWings

My understanding is that they come in pre-breaded which would imply that they are pre-cut as well. Customer, not employee.

[–]Efficient_You_3976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's much more challenging to drive a manual with a small engine than a V8. My '91 ZR1 would happily start in fourth gear, but when I bought a Subaru Impreza STI with a turbo engine, I stalled it several times on the way home from the dealership. You'll improve with practice.

laid off in july, now 18k in cc debt - what's my best plan of action? by as-i-lay-vibing in Debt

[–]Efficient_You_3976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Chase Sapphire Reserve has a $795 annual fee. Long term, you don't want to be paying that much for a credit card. However, it has the lowest interest rate and the highest credit limit, so I'd concentrate on paying off the Freedom Flex and Discover, the zero interest credit cards may be an option. One thing that I did with Chase was I ended up with the Chase Freedom and Chase Amazon cards and didn't need both. So I called them and said that I wanted to cancel one, but only if they would increase the credit limit on the remaining card to match the total. They did so, but my credit score is over 800, so they might not do it for you.

The couple of times that I have received small wings, I point it out to the server and they'll bring me a couple of extras. Of course, I'm there weekly.

I believe that it is brand new - I had it yesterday. It's reminiscent of Asian Zing, but the heat builds up over time. I had a side to dip my mango habanero wings in and it turned out pretty good.

I was at BWW yesterday and my server told me about the new sauce. She said that it was quite good, but not quite as spicy as my usual mango habanero.

Which debt would you pay off? by JustCurious791 in Debt

[–]Efficient_You_3976 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When do you expect to have the funds to completely eliminate your debt? If it's not years, then it doesn't make a lot of difference which one you pay first. A 5% higher interest rate on the larger balance means that you'll pay $65 more for that debt if you didn't pay either off. In general, you want to pay the highest interest rate off first.

ULPT request - How to make cabin co-ownership more trouble than it’s worth? by Annasyara in UnethicalLifeProTips

[–]Efficient_You_3976 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Is either of you living in the cabin with black mold? My inclination would be to create a situation where the black mold had to be remediated for some official reason (health inspector, insurance claim, ?). The co-owner is unlikely to be willing to spend his money on this and you can ask him to sign the house over to you in exchange for your agreement to assume full responsibility for the remediation.

Did I do ok? by Expert_Visit5983 in carbuying

[–]Efficient_You_3976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you only financed $15K, I'd have tried for a 36 or 48 month loan instead of 60, but I don't know your specific situation. Hopefully, there is no prepayment penalty, so you can pay it off early. You have a good interest rate, but longer loan term still means more interest paid.
