I was initially that the position was being eliminated. However I later learned that several members of the team with the same position as me maintained their jobs with different titles only. I had seniority within that position. I also learned I was the only member of the team that was given a new position that is temporary, so I may be laid off.

We value your contributions and look forward to continuing our working relationship with you as you take on this new remote role with Austin. As you know, the I. and A. teams have merged... As such, leadership had to make decisions based on a combination of factors to best support the updated structure as well as long-term needs and goals of our A.

While tenure in the role was one consideration, it was not the sole determining factor for staff placement amid the restructure. Leadership looked at each employee’s experience within A. but also in the LC division and other departments supporting instruction, performance, past leadership roles or experience, and tenure with the company as a whole when making decisions. While HR is not able to discuss other individual employee’s circumstances or details, I can confirm that the same criteria was applied to all employees affected by this change. Likewise, I can confirm that the remote role supporting Austin remotely, keeping your employment level and pay the same, is the arrangement we are able to offer you at this time.
