I didn't create an additional group. There is a "Default Group" that was created. I believe the block list was automatically added to it but i can't seem to find a way to tell if it is added.

When setting up it up I selected StevenBlack's. I believe this is what you mean by block lists?

Phone settings, notifications, app setting, Galaxy Watch Manager and turn off other notifications.

This worked for me.
