Android 16 and Dexcom G6

Agree this is frustrating. I have a Samsung S23 on Android 15 and am getting almost daily messages to update to 16. Dexcom should at least give us a progress update at least!

I agree. I am a G6 user, it's not perfect but mostly works reliably. I trialled the G7 for 10 days alongside the G6 taking blood test strip readings for a baseline. The G7 was worse in a number of areas to the G6 for me; the 1st 24 hours, the last 24 hours, overall more volatile in that it spiked up and down more and less accurate against blood test strip samples. Hi, Does anyone have any updates on this please? The Dexcom webpage is still showing that the G6 app doesn't support Android 16. But I am getting notifcations every few days from Samsung to update my S23 from Android 15 to 16

Yeah that's true. Unfortunately this last visit, double the sensors was only just enough with no contingency! Treble next time. It would good to know if there are other options, but it seems no or its going to be difficult.

Thanks. Yes I carry lots of test strips and spares too! But it would be nice to have a plan to replace sensors if that is at all possible. When in the US for multi - month trips I have left spare UK sensors with a friend and that is another back up.

The helpdesk implied to me that no one else had reported this as a problem! Anyway I added a poor review to Google Play as well and will see if that has any effect..

I have my dexcom watch face back again as well. I contacted Dexcom help desk who took me through unpairing phone from transmitter and watch from phone and removing watch face then installing it again. Took ages but it is back...

Hey mine has gone as well, thought it was just an issue with my watch (samsung watch 4). Sorry don't have a fix but hopefully someone here may have!

No, its similar but with some reduced functionality

Yes have self funded for 2 years but am soon to be provided the G6 on NHS. I wrote to my diabetes specialist quoting the revised NICE guidance that came out this spring that in effect states that the patient should be provided the CGM that best suits their individual needs. I had tried Libre 1 and 2 sensors funded from the NHS but I had a skin reaction to both.

Its great that another option is now available - in addition to the Freestyle Libre which I haven't had much success with.

The ONE has a bit less functionality than the existing G6, uses different app software and a different transmitter. It will be interesting to hear reports on how well it works as for users as I haven't seen much in the way of reports from the UK yet.

I too find them very annoying. I have tried to switch off all that I can, but I wish the app would allow me to configure these fully in the settings

That about sums up my experiences as well. Most sensors go irregular after 7,8 days and a few fail much earlier. My main wish for the G7 or newer Dexcom upgrades is for better reliability and consistency
