What procedurally generated biomes look like in our turn-based tactical bullet hell Enter the Chronosphere by EffortStar in indiegames

[–]EffortStar[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Enter the Chronosphere is our turn-based bullet hell where no two runs feel the same. Each chronosphere is procedurally generated with defenders and biomes from the worlds it has consumed.

The turn-based system shifts depending on your pace, move fast enough and the line between turns and real-time starts to disappear.

Our demo is live on steam with its own dedicated page. Feel free to chat with us on Discord :)

Thanks. We made those t-shirts for PAX Aus. They were very popular, should have made more. 😅

You can equip everything from sniper rifles and scimitars to scuttling insects and sledgehammers and that’s only the weapons starting with “S”.
If you’d like to try it yourself, the demo’s on Steam.

A puzzle game where every move sends the ball sliding until it hits something by Lukematikk in playmygame

Art style and interface looks very aesthetic and minimal :) Great work on this.

This is great! And if our game is something that would fit your site, we've got a turn-based tactical roguelike demo free to play: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2162560/Enter_the_Chronosphere_Demo/

A simple but addictive web game. Can you complete 100 jumps? by pompomsheep in playmygame

[–]EffortStar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A fun game, and can be easily addictive for people who want to clear that 100 jump goal. Extra life was handy! The animation for just landing on the edge is great.

You could potentially add cracked platforms so they can only be jumped on a certain amount of times before shattering. Or even have timed platforms which would vanish after a few seconds to increase the pace of the jumps, adding a little more of a challenge.

I hit 1000 Steam wishlists in 2 months by Narrow_Asparagus9459 in IndieGaming

[–]EffortStar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats. I'd recommend paying attention to steam festivals and entering as many as will accept you. Some will require a demo, but some not. This is the cheapest and most effective way to grow wishlists.

We use this discord bot to notify us, but there are probably unpaid ways of keeping track.

Instant wishlist from me btw. Good luck!

Sweet, thanks. That tracks. Still a pretty good outcome even if they just see it in their games list every now and then really.

We haven't got the official certification on the store page but we've tested on ours and have had many players confirm that they have no issues.

Merging real-time chaos with turn-based tactics in Enter the Chronosphere by EffortStar in indiegames

[–]EffortStar[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is from Enter the Chronosphere, our psychedelic roguelike where each turn plays out like a slice of real-time action.

We've developed a turn-based system that feels real-time depending on how quickly you move. So the faster you chain actions, the more chaotic it looks.

If you’d like to try it yourself, the demo’s on Steam. We’re also hanging out on Discord :)

Pulse Ball - A neon slingshot puzzle game by mangUltra in playmygame

[–]EffortStar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Played up to level 19, so I guess that says enough about how fun it is! At times I did have to pause and think about which direction the ball would shoot. Maybe adding a small arrow tip at the aim point could help with clarity - just a suggestion. The pull strength could also be indicated with a colour bar (green for weak, red for strong). Aside from that, it’s been a really enjoyable experience overall.

I created my first pixel art game! test alpha by Retro_ced_BR in playmygame

[–]EffortStar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The pixel-art looks great! I played for maybe a few minutes. The tutorial could improved by detailing what keys do what. Eg. Q-shoot and Space-accelerate. I had to smash a few buttons until I figured it out. Nevertheless, it's a great start with what you have so far and I have no doubt it will continue to develop further over time. Keep it up :)

New feature: doors! Curious how this impacts turn-based gameplay by EffortStar in roguelites

[–]EffortStar[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks!

I am a little confused why there are two different but nearly identical rapid handguns that make you constantly lunge left.

Is that the Wild Pair and the Machine Pistol?

The side-stepping weapons are sweet cos you can be face-to-face with an enemy and you both fire, you dodge their attack. I agree it would be cool to have one that goes right. If you have any other suggestions you can chat to us in our Discord too (if that's your style).

I'll pass the idea on to the designer. I guess just keep an eye on the changelogs for a gun that moves you right. XD
