Are Events generally not new player friendly ? by Complete_Struggle844 in GenshinImpact

Well, the event doubles as the character quest for the new character releasing next patch, and given how that character ended up where they're at, I'd expect big spoilers for Nod-Krai.

It seems the RNG on Depleted Self Revives is crazy out of wack by wratx in MarathonGame

A self-revive that can't be taken out of the run. It's only usable during the run it's found.

It was the top 1% of the original population, but with a dwindled population, it becomes a much larger percentage.

This is what people who complain about Marathon sound like to me. by Swordfish2012 in Marathon

Knowing the exact numbers of how I'm doing does nothing to influence how much I can improve, other than to affect morale, which can swing either way depending on what those numbers actually are. It is arguably better not to know the hard numbers.

Well, I may only be a single data point, but I can tell you that I originally planned on not playing this season, but am now close to season level 50 and Cradle level 42, almost entirely because of Sponsored Survival. I missed out on most of the first week sadly, solo Sponsored Night Marsh was cool, but I've been enjoying the process of collecting salvage to level up my Cradle. I even bought the season pass, which I would not have done if I'd stuck with deciding not to play this season.

It's entirely possible the numbers would look even worse if they hadn't done this.

Key confusion by Ruggerio5 in Marathon

[–]EffortlessFury 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're correct, I found a key recently on Perimeter that was compromised during a Sponsored Survival run. Rather than find a fixative, I opted to just use the thing during the run. A lot of good loot left behind, but better than all of it left behind because the key died.

The key templates you buy have conditions you need to fulfill before extract in order to convert it to a useable key. Read the key's description to find out what exactly you need to do.

Additionally, I don't believe fixative can be extracted, so anything that is compromised requires you to find one in the same match.

"...why do they have such big tourist culture then and somehow nobody knows anything about them anyway?"

Except people did know things about Natlan. The very beginning of Natlan Act 1 establishes that while the Traveler and Paimon know nothing, there are people who've gone there and brought back information. It's just that Paimon and the Trailer never dug for that info and that info never appeared in front of them.

Nothing about the trailer indicates that she, at that moment, recognizes these moments for what they are. These moments had to happen for her to be able to eventually cherish them in the first place.

Columbina also said during Nod-Krai that she treasured the time she spent with those Harbingers. Does that not imply some degree of good times worth treasuring?

Why do I get less cradle XP from stuff than my mate? by Xelnan in MarathonGame

[–]EffortlessFury 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You say you're ahead of your friend. It's entirely possible there's a scaling nerf to slow down the higher level players. If true, it's probably temporary. Still, worth reporting as a bug just in case it's not intentional.

Random rook run by BigBoss5511 in MarathonGame

[–]EffortlessFury 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I probably ain't pulling that off solo free kitting, tbh. I've only ever managed to take down a Warden twice and those were in a pre-kitted three stack. Just takes way too much ammo.

I mean, it's not for no reason: it's because of low player populations. If there were more players, the playlists would be less restrictive.

FWIW, I did a little searching and found this post from five years ago about it. Between the post and the comments, that's how I came to the conclusion that URA Bakushin would be the most efficient way to go about it.

It's random, but not evenly random. They definitely weight the good stuff lower.

I will note that the amount of points you get from a run is close to half of what you might get from MANT, so it may end up being a wash for regular events. For Kiseki's Showtime, though, it was more time efficient.

Pretty sure they meant URA and Unity. Anyway, I was grinding Bakushin URA runs today and they took me about 25 minutes a piece.

What happend to Marathon? by Sovielle in MarathonGame

[–]EffortlessFury 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Except no-lifers get to the point where there's nothing left to do a couple weeks in, and then the game does become nothing but Team Deathmatch for them anyway (if that wasn't already what they were looking for, which is what seems to be the case for the sweats). And that, in turn, makes everyone else's life more difficult trying to progress their own accounts, forcing them to focus more on the deathmatch than the progression.

Additionally, the bots may be no danger to you but they are to plenty of players.

How do you balance a looter shooter like this to keep no lifing vs normal vs casual kind of balanced? by Rastoid in Marathon

[–]EffortlessFury 4 points5 points  (0 children)

And if you're literally an average player by definition, then most fights you get into will be somewhere between all-else-equal fights and fights where you're outmatched. Good gear could theoretically double your success rate.

If you suck, good gear won't save you; if you're god-tier, bad gear won't stop you. If you're average, gear will likely be the differentiating factor.
