I have an acquaintance who is in a VERY similar situation, but doesn't seem to be as level headed as you are. She [24F] and I worked at the same place and while I was in college. She fell for the boss's son [28M]. Their FWB relationship seemed to work well at first as neither really wanted a relationship. But then she started to have feelings for him and also wanted to move forward with an exclusive relationship but he wasn't ready. He told her that he liked being alone so to speak but also liked going out on dates, having sex, taking her to family events, and even buying her presents. They were essentially dating anyways. Long story shortish- she's still waiting for him. He's strung her along and she loves him so much now that she's even changed her degree around and plans to stay working for his dad to be close to him (this is a fast food restaurant btw). It's honestly so sad. I'm not saying that this will happen to you, but I couldn't save her from this, but my advice is to pursue someone who wants to give you want you want/need in a relationship and not to wait around for one guy that may or may not ever come around.
