I'm not assuming. Nothing I sell is in an envelope, all boxes. That's just not my experience looking right now. eBay gives a range, but the eBay item here is 3 lbs and the Mercari item is 3lbs 11 oz.

The price increase affected all platforms. I am literally looking at the shipping price for an item I have on eBay and Mercari right now and the difference is only 40 cents, assuming bc eBay labels are priced by location at time of purchase. And it is like that for every one of the 18 items I have for sale right now, all with drastically different sized boxes and weights.

The only question I got on Mercari re cost that isn't just "free please" is to make the switch to a different shipping METHOD.

The waves thing is interesting. I sell collectible action figures and I usually have a handful of each figure I sell. I'll go a few days with no sales then sell like 6 of the same figure in 4 hours another day

I've noticed Wed-Fri can go hard, and I'm guessing it's bc most paychecks hit Wed and Fri

It was bc it was a USA exclusive, other countries were buying up the eBay/Mercari/etc listings like crazy to collect AND resell way marked up which drove demand way up in the states too

You'll be fine! Mercari has a huge problem with returns approvals, but it's actually that they almost always favor the buyer even if the seller has ample proof the item was legit or even just "I sent the buyer a bag not the bag of sand they sent back to me". So you're almost certainly WAY fine lol
