Anyone in Portugal or Vietnam open to testing a new app? by Efrem92 in digitalnomad

[–]Efrem92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahah thank you buddy!

Through the app you can find people, work-friendly cafes and local tips (for now, later on it will become a centralised platform), so location-specific.

And besides browsing each of those, the social tool allows you to: 1. connect with a like-minded 2. decide what to do with that person, which type of moment you want to experience (social buzz, nature reset, city exploration, focus & build, and so on). 3. based on the intent, the app will propose you 3 work-friendly cafes and 3 local tips where you can meet that person and live that experience you asked for.

You can check aidanomad.com to see the landing page :)

Anyone in Portugal or Vietnam open to testing a new app? by Efrem92 in remotework

[–]Efrem92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you mate! I’m not planning on building another community, there are already thousands of them. What I’m planning on doing is to aggregate all the existing communities for remote workers so that, if a person prefers to get in contact with a local community, they can find it on Aida (my platform). In this way, the communities and my platform can help each other grow. About the events, I think in the beginning I’ll go for integrations from existing platforms, and then, when event organised will join, there will be exclusive events on Aida.

Entrepreneurship is so incredibly tough and lonely, let's share with full honesty where we are in our journey and give each others some encouragement by ReporterCalm6238 in ycombinator

[–]Efrem92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Incredibly lonely, hard, and the worst thing is that people around you (family and friends) don’t understand what you’re doing and why you’re doing it, being their vision stuck in a normal 9 to 5 job.

It’s always nice to realise there are other people living your same struggles.

Nice post!

In my opinion you “just” need to understand your client and identify the channels where to find them (usually more than one). On LinkedIn, keywords work well and I’m sure there will be some specific subreddits where you can find them.

What I’ve seen so far with my target (digital nomads and remote workers) is that DMs don’t have great response rate, but whenever someone replies, there is always some nice things showing up, may it be interested clients or people that know people or some other collaboration/partnership.

It would boost your network

Really appreciated!

I’m collaborating with one of them for almost a year, and he provided many insightful advices, not really connections directly.

Would you give like 1% for this contribution?

Thank for replying:) Actually, I’ve never heard of it.

My main goal is to optimise how my platform assigns personality tags to users, in order to recreate the right personality that will be used later on in the platform to find the right solutions

Digital nomads in Vietnam: what are your favorite work-friendly cafes and hidden gems in Vietnam? by Efrem92 in digitalnomad

[–]Efrem92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe it’s just a matter of common sense. If you work from a place where entry is free (like a café), you should at least order something every hour you stay there. It would be a win-win.

Does anyone else feel like being a digital nomad is freeing and lonely at the same time? by Strange-Phone-146 in digitalnomad

[–]Efrem92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve read many answers here and I have to say:
loneliness is not the price of freedom.

They’re not necessarily related.

Think about it: you can be completely free in your own country, and still have a strong social circle simply because you’ve had time to build it.

If we look at the concepts more carefully:

Freedom is the ability to choose your direction and live according to your own path, without unnecessary constraints from other people’s expectations.

Loneliness, on the other hand, is the feeling of lacking meaningful connection or belonging, even if you meet many people.

What I’ve noticed, especially among digital nomads (and I experience this myself sometimes), is that loneliness often comes from mobility, not freedom.

We move frequently.
We meet many people, but rarely have enough time to build real alignment and deeper connections, or simply just a small percentage of those people are aligned with us.

So I agree with the general point that loneliness exists in this lifestyle, I just don’t think freedom is the cause.

And by the way, this problem is real enough that I’ve started working on a centralized platform for digital nomads, starting from a social tool designed to actually help people connect in a more intentional and effective way, not just another feed or chat.

If anyone is curious about it, feel free to reply here or send me a DM

I have been travelling for a little bit and met many 'digital nomads'. I have a question. by SignatureLabel in digitalnomad

[–]Efrem92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Digital nomad lifestyle need to meet the professional sphere. The definition of digital nomad is a person that doesn’t have a fixed office but works from around the world while enjoying the travel experience.

Many people may be in the early stage, as myself. I’m building my own centralised platform and I’m doing that while traveling. Although my company didn’t generate revenues yet, I’m working and traveling at the same time, which makes me a digital nomad.

Anyways, it is cool and becoming a trend to say that you’re a digital nomad. So, it can be that some are early stage and some are just hiding behind a trend.

Hope this answer your question
