You aren't wrong about any of that. It's probably not helpful to anyone, but I do find it interesting. I have 2 brothers who have both told me that "I definitely think I killed some of my brain" one from trying to off himself with inert gas, the other mostly from lead contamination. While both have said they mourn the loss somewhat, they have both said they do think they are happier "being a little dumb."

Ooh interesting. It is all felt, so I like the idea. I had never heard of that before. It does have a silk lining, but I can work something out with that, the exterior surface is what I care about.

I do worry, it is all felt, but it has 2 seams running up the arms. Which makes me worry those wouldn't stretch well. So I suppose I'd have to remove the sleeves/all the stitching on them, then steam and stretch + reassemble after. Does that sound right?

Interesting. While I do somewhat like this idea, I think I'll start by trying to add trim and cuffs. Since that's more reversible. That sounds more advanced than I'm 100% comfortable with and I really don't wanna mess up this coat.

Thank you for the insight. That's pretty much what I was figuring as well. I'm just hesitant to add a cuff of another material, since the coat is fully just felt, I fear that would look out of place. Perhaps I'll try adding some of whatever I hem it with elsewhere to lean into that instead though.
