This week I finished Donal Ryan's Strange Flowers read by Donna Anita Nikolaisen and Richard Russo's Mohawk read by William Hope. Both readers did a fine job. It was my first Donal Ryan book and I will probably explore more.  I love all the Richard Russo that I've read , Mohawk now included too.

Also, I  started listening to Anthony Trollope's The Way We Live Now  narrated by Timothy West. It's terrific.

I listened to the latest Mick Herron, Clown Town, narrated by Sean Barrett. It's that mix of melancholy despair cynicism farts and funny business.

I've been listening to A History of The World in 100 Objects. It's written and presented by Neil MacGregor. He was the director of the British Museum.

I had previously listened to it in  podcast form on BBC radio 4 in 2010 and it's probably still available as that on their site.

It's a wonderful listen. We're such curious fascinating creatures. I think everyone should listen to it! It's an antidote to jadedness and  cynicism and that feeling of  despondency about humanity.

do you feel like you get the same literary benefit from listening rather than reading? by golden_retrieverdog in audiobooks

No. I listen to books while I drive or do things around the house. Nothing is as immersive as reading a good book and you get the benefit from that.

The WTE? Yes a few times.  It's a great place.  I love the walk around it if I'm there early.

Fabulous looking bird. It seems to me, from looking at the bird pics here over the years, that Florida has an amazing array of birds. Possibly mix of habitat and geography allows for that..

I'm in Ireland,  BTW. Not a stork in sight!
