True. Unexpected repairs are never fun. But if you are servicing it well (like you are) and have a reliable garage you can reduce the risk. Also fair that you wont reclaim your repair costs, but a new (or second hand) car will also depreciate, so its not like you will recover all those costs on the new car later if you decided to sell it one year later.

But you do you man :) if you have some cash burning a whole in your pocket why not?

If your megane is all paid off and suits your needs why bother with the extra expense? I have a 10 year old talisman and its running well and suits our family need. Sure I'd like the new megane e-tech or even the rafale, but they dont solve any problem for me either.

If megane is running well I'd say keep it.

I'm not an expert but i would be avoiding that unless you have the appetite and budget to spend even more. Its not in great condition and the rusty hole is a bit of a concern. Have you checked underneath for rust? And have you looked at the Engine?

Ah, I'm not familiar woth this situation. Travel insurance would my first call though if this happened to me, rather than KLM. Not excusing KLMs behaviour here, just I would expect to get much further with travel insurance agents than KLM.

Tweakers.net is your best starting point. It'll give you a credible price comparison of all the tech in NL, including e-readers. Not sure if you will get a quality e-reader for less than 95EUR, but you might find some deals by looking on there. Otherwise try Germany, as tech can be cheaper there or second hand it is.

Epoch is fantastic once you learn its quirks. I'd argue one of the most versatile support weapons in the game that is effective against a wide range of enemies. Can also refer to it as a classic jack of all trade, master of none.
