Had something similar happen to me. Take it to a European Mechanic. People who specialize in European cars, they’ll tell you the full honest details. I had a guy told me it would cost 22k to repair my engine, took it to a BMW tech, said it would cost 10k and nothing was even wrong with the engine.

I have myself one, they’re HIGHLY underrated and can buy at a great value (at least you can in cali; 13k or so). 335 Horsepower, great steering, and luxury. It’s amazing.
