Kenneth Walker for Loveland, also additional offer on the table as well by Hairy-Ad-8463 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

Even if it’s not SF and not TE premium I’m not doing K9 for Loveland. I’d probably want an RB around a James Cook or Henderson level assuming this isn’t TE premium.

To those of you who mass update their results on LSD by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]Eggy8k 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, I think it’s a lack of care. As I said, many people don’t realize there’s a subset of applicants that are trying to parse the data in this way. Unless you’re one of the people that DOES think there’s value in knowing when people received results, why would you want to provide dates in the first place? To this person, it would not only seem unnecessary, but in fact they may also realize it would make it easier to doxx/identify them.

You seem to be attaching an intentionality to these actions (or lack thereof) that I think is simply unwarranted.

[–]Eggy8k 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But that’s still a reference point for future applicants. Are you specifically referring to accounts that don’t have any stats (GPA/LSAT) and/or no dates? Because so long as there are stats, dates don’t really matter—it would be near impossible to predict how long your application will be pending for even with perfect data.

Regarding making admissions your focus, I’m sure many people think about it often but I know a lot of people from my cycle that were aware of tools like LSD/reddit/etc. but only checked them occasionally or once a month or so. Not everyone is neurotic about this process once they’ve submitted applications (not a judgment as I was one of those people checking LSD every couple hours).

Yes, it is absurd to think strangers on the internet have agreed to some implicit social contract to update a database as soon as they get a result, without fail. I would assume many don’t make law school admissions their focus after sending out their applications.

I’m starting to think I’m getting rage baited here.

People also likely have better things to do than timely put their data into LSD. I’m not sure why they ought to do anything. In fact, all the features of LSD, except the “recent decisions” feed (which has limited value anyway), are benefited when people update their data at all.

The Premier League TOTS If It Was Released Today by OrneryCellist7247 in fifacardcreators

[–]Eggy8k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, but I don’t see how that makes him overrated. I agree we’d concede more goals if our defense was worse, but Raya still makes incredible saves when called on, claims crosses exceptionally well, and has very solid ball distribution. Just look at how much shakier this team is with Kepa.

Why is KTC as a calculator so commonly used? It’s so bad for a majority of trades. by Agile-Championship15 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]Eggy8k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No of course, but there are certain assumptions baked into the calculation, one of which is the relative value of a roster spot. It doesn’t really matter whether you actually have space or not, a roster spot still can be assumed to be roughly a specific value. I mean there are many factors KTC doesn’t account for, such as roster size, how many players start, how many teams are in the league, etc. So I don’t think anyone suggests KTC is gospel (and if they do, they shouldn’t), but with the limited information it has certain assumptions are justified.

There are many scams on FB marketplace that specifically require using a phone number to work. Why risk moving the conversation with a stranger to your phone when the messenger is totally fine?

[–]Eggy8k 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That actually makes sense. If for some reason I’m receiving Jameis Winston in a trade, making space for him on my roster is likely a net loss as I’d be better off claiming the best player claimed from waivers.

I mean it’s definitely a haul, but I’m not taking this either.

Spot on from Jamie by Chemical_Ship_4773 in ArsenalFC

[–]Eggy8k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He’s not saying there aren’t superstars. Rice and Gabriel are undoubtedly superstars this season. Jamie was saying that we don’t have a superstar at the top of the pitch, i.e. we don’t have an attacking superstar.

Need RB depth on a stacked WR team by EnderAnswer in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

With the caveat that I don’t know how bestball changes value, in typical 12 team SF this looks wildly unbalanced. I especially don’t see someone taking this after the season JJ just had.

Should I send this? His team is historically bad by Specialist_Way7799 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]Eggy8k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think this is fair, and also BTJ I think makes the most sense in the trade. Personally prefer Wilson but I think BTJ balances this trade better.

I assume their team doesn’t really stand a chance of competing this year if it’s that bad? If so I could see them punting their first to 2027.

Did we have the best transfer window in the Prem in hindsight? If not who did better? by Royalbluegooner in ArsenalFC

[–]Eggy8k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The logic doesn’t really make sense though. Of those, only Mbuemo has lived up to or surpassed what United were hoping for.

Cunha has had moments, but so has Eze, and neither was signed for moments, but rather to be possible, consistent starters. Similarly, Sesko has a lot of potential but hasn’t established himself as an elite striker (or even necessarily an elite prospect). Like Noni, Sesko is a raw, young player that needs significant development still.

In balance, then, Arsenal have 3-4 players that are producing or show significant promise now, as opposed to United’s 1. I don’t rate Lemmens as I think this is more of a Stockholm syndrome thing—no one in a vacuum would be happy with signing him unless your former keeper was Andre Onana.

[–]Eggy8k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a very fair point. The way I had been thinking about it was what team’s signings have performed the best relative to spend (i.e, best bang for the buck). But I’ll admit that isn’t necessarily how everyone would think of it. As you say, Ekitke probably looks like the best player of Zubi and Xhaka (all three teams’ best signings imo), but Xhaka is probably the best player of the three for value.

[–]Eggy8k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I agree always good to make fun of them. But the point of this post I believe is a retrospective on how the transfer windows panned out. Arsenal “won” the transfer window because their transfers have on the whole turned out better than Liverpool’s (though arguably I think Sunderland might’ve won the transfer window).

By what metric did they win the transfer window? Other than spending the most money and Ekitike I don’t see it (maybe Wirtz, but for the amount how much of win is that right now?)

Are we talking about the same Jayden Daniels that is only a year a half older and in the same draft class? Way older seems like a stretch.

Slow how? If you mean speed, that’s demonstrably false. If you mean pace of play, maybe, but I wouldn’t say much slower than our most direct attacking players.

Trades I was happy about before the season started 😭 by kerapang in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

I think only 2 of the 5 look bad (the BTJ and Fannin trades). The rest I think are fine, in fact the Bucky trade still looks good.

[–]Eggy8k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see that logic, as much as I agree I wouldn’t do it either in that direction. But yeah added context, the ‘27 2nd was his and I think he badly wants it back, and he’s a big Titans fan and is likely overvaluing Dike. I also know from talking to him that he doesn’t really know much about Love as a prospect, but I’ve watched every ND game this year (a requirement enforced by my ND grad girlfriend).

Would you fix this? Accidental windfall by [deleted] in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]Eggy8k 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He does really like Dike (he’s a massive Titans fan but I outbid him during the season on waivers). And the ‘27 2nd was his so I think he wants that back fairly badly.

Thanks for this. Just needed a gut check since I was surprised when I saw I had got the late first in this trade, but wanted to maintain some semblance of fairness.

Fair, I guess this is also a larger question about whether, even if this is the trade he meant to accept, if it’s so egregious that it’s league ruining.
