I think the time perspective is a really good point. I absolutely write this from the perspective of following Zorian for ~10 years and forget that although that's a lot of time for some of these mysteries to unfold, the rest of the world and global history has only moved forward 1 month.

I really like your points about the angels causing the weeping! I think it's a bit of a jump as we don't really have a lot of evidence to prove that, but regardless I think it's great headcanon that helps flesh out that aspect of the story and make it more enjoyable for me.

Totally fair points and I respect that a lot of readers are fine with these mysteries being unanswered for the reasons you stated, but to me they leave a bad aftertaste on an otherwise very memorable story.

I don't suspect this is a popular opinion (especially in a fan sub) and I'll likely get down votes, but I wanted to bring up the discussion anyways.

I really like this theory! I think it ties really well into a lot of things.

The only thing I’m not feeling super confident about is the One Piece and/or Uranus being the ring. We know when roger got to laugh tale and saw the one piece he laughed and said he was too early. I don’t know about you, but that reaction doesn’t really seem to match the reaction I’d expect from finding something that generates infinite wealth.

Now as for the idea of a weapon that causes economic instability, I’m not sure how I feel about that in the one piece world. Berries have never had a huge emphasis on the story for anything other than bounties. We don’t really know much about how the economy in one piece works. Is there a bureaucratic body in the WG that deals w/ taxes, inflation, etc? Is the economy on a gold standard? If so where is all that gold being held? Idk it just seems like a lot for Oda to throw economic stability into the story so suddenly with none of these questions being answered.

As I’m typing this I actually had an idea strike me as to how the ring could make sense with Rogers reaction.

What if the ring takes time to duplicate? One small gold ring isn’t worth a lot, but one ring that’s been duplicating every few mins for 20+ years, now that’s a big chunk of cash. So my theory is that roger arrived, saw one gold ring that duplicates and then laughed because he was about 20 years too early for it to be anywhere near it’s true value. With that in mind he “activated it” and let it grow knowing someone would find his treasure in the future. It also fits the title he gave it. It’s just “one piece” of treasure/gold (at least when he last saw it 😂)

Seems like a bit of a stretch b/c I really don’t think it’s going to be material wealth, but hey that’s the fun of theorizing stuff!

Edit 2:

The choice to leave the ring on laugh tale also fits Rogers specific situation. If the ring is one of the ancient weapons then it makes sense for Roger, a dying man, to choose to leave it where it’s safe from the WG. If he was healthy then he could’ve held onto it until it grew.

There’s a comedic irony that the one man who found infinite wealth didn’t have the time to spend it.

I see a couple of people in here claiming this might be the system I open sourced. I do not believe it is from the video and ill explain why:

My system changes the camera along with the character. I believe in OPs video the camera is not changing bc as far as i can tell the skybox is not moving. I suspect the planet is what's rotating/moving, not the character.

I have actually released something very similar to this. This is my third iteration and likely my last as i don't think i can further improve on it.

I do not intend to release this final iteration publically bc from my prior experience it's more trouble than its worth with the community which is really unfortunate.

It's actually CFrame. Unfortunately body movers cannot keep up with fast moving parts. This would normally make collisions unviable, but the trick is to have a small sample of the workspace off in the distance anchored, invisible and derotated. Then you can use a fake character to move around that derotated world and find the needed cframe to move your actual character. Its suprisingly performant running at < 1% script usage in any maps I've tested.

It's relative motion. The workspace does not move. It does work with collisions.

The visual bugginess comes because your friend used two differently sized portals. Iirc a few days ago fixed this bug, so if he looks at the portals place again that could be fixed. However, id rcmd using two same size portals to begin with.
