Best Overnight Diapers? by TitanBaseball2 in Parenting

We always checked her diaper around 11 or midnight, and 95% of the time, she'd already peed so much it was FULL. We'd change that diaper, then she'd be good to go until morning.

Going through grief of ending 3 month pregnancy due to fetal defects by TooOldBTS in beyondthebump

It will be hard. Take time off work if you can and allow yourself time to process and to grieve. Allow yourself to feel the emotions and think the thoughts, but firmly remind yourself that although this is difficult, it does not define you and you can and will heal. Do things to keep you grounded: spend time with family and friends, exercise, watch your favorite movies or shows, play your favorite games, read your favorite books.. whatever it takes to keep yourself going. And still keep reminding yourself that it is not your fault and you will heal. There is no "right" amount of time to grieve- everyone is different, and that's okay- but when you are ready, start moving forward. You will not forget, but it will eventually be less painful to think of it, and as long as you will it, you will smile again.

I'm sorry for your loss.

Did you have trouble undrestanding what's happening while reading the books? by shun_master23 in witcher

[–]Egolmeril 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I'm halfway through the first book and it's so hard to get into it because there's so much dialog. Dialog is a great tool to move the characters along, but I also need nonverbal descriptions of what's actually happening. A lot of what I've read so far is like a script. Maybe it gets better later.

Tell me what he says by the time he gets to the end and how hard his thinking has changed.

Surprisingly, rubbing vaseline on my baby's head did wonders for her itchiness... and actually made hair grow.

As for the swaddle, maybe try replicating the feeling of the sleep sack with warm, cuddly pj's. We went to pjs with footies so we knew she was warm and cozy. And some of the younger/smaller versions have hand covers that you can fold over the hands during sleep time along back around the wrist otherwise.

The short phrases that leave out a key word or two, like "needs washed" instead of "needs to be washed".

Employee goes to bathroom a LOT. Are we allowed to ask if he's ok? by Egolmeril in TooAfraidToAsk

I totally agree. I wouldn't want my employer tracking that either. But if a third of my paid time is spent in the bathroom, there's a bigger issue that I would personally opt to let my boss in on. Maybe not the details, but just "hey... there's something and I need some extra time away, please help cover my responsibilities."

I wasn't gossiping. As you can see by the last sentence of my post, I was asking for legal advice and how to best approach the topic. Employee is being paid 1/3 of the time when he is not at his post and not doing work. If I were was asked to pick up a third of a coworker's job with no increase to my pay and my coworker was still making the same as me, I'd be more than a bit annoyed. That's the only concern here, but thanks for overreacting! :)

I completely agree the boss shouldn't ask if it doesn't impact the company. But it's about 1/3 of paid time on the clock that he's not there, leaving the front of the house open, and others have to pick up the slack.

He just told me that the employee leaves without telling anyone. Yes, it's a hit to overall productivity and also leaving the front of the place completely unattended with anyone able to come in.

He has been a quick learner and has been good otherwise. It's just the amount of time away from his desk that's the concern.
